Had the most wonderful evening at Pea Porridge as part of a table of 4 diners. The menu had so many interesting dishes that it made it difficult to settle on just one dish for each course. I love the great use of offal and less familiar cuts of meat. All the dishes we ordered were perfectly cooked , tasted... More

We were a party of four for Saturday night dinner. The restaurant was full but the service was very good. The surroundings were relaxing. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially as two of our party had food allergies. The menu was interesting and unusual. The food was very tasty with good sized portions. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening.... More

Our daughter booked a table for us at this restaurant as they really enjoy the experience here. We decided to go the whole hog and had three courses & a bottle of their natural wine. It was a great experience for us too. We had the benefit of a lovely waitress who took her time to explain the menu to... More

Although the restaurant is well hidden away in Bury it is a must for anyone wanting a really great evening of food which is slightly different but of excellent quality. This is coupled with really good service from the attentive and knowledgeable staff.

We had a fabulous dinner here with friends on a weekend in November 2015; we all raved about the food and the atmosphere. Pea Porridge feels very upmarket whilst not being snooty whatsoever. The setting, decoration and layout are all warm and elegant, while the food was simply top notch.

We lunched here with our dear friends at the end of holidays at Aldeburgh. They had been to Pea Porridge before and recommended it and it did not disappoint. We shared a slow roasted shoulder of lamb with spiced cous cous which was sublime. Deserts lovely, wine excellent and service knowledgeable and friendly. Great setting and all in all a... More

Booked last minute on the day as a result of another restaurant being non-kid friendly. Anyhow turned out to be a good thing. The waiting staff were surprised to see the kids finished their main as well as starter. The staff were very attentive - that maybe down to the fact the table was near the bar. Only comment that... We really enjoyed our lunch here. The menu is really different and unique. I think it changes often. The staff was very friendly and efficient. It's slightly expensive from what I remember but I'd recommend it for a nice meal. You won't be let down.

We attended as a two couples, one being gluten free, and to be quick we all had a great meal. The serving staff were excellent and informative . The menu was exciting with several starters and a few main dishes which are not common. So the ambiance, service, and food was excellent.👍👍👍👍👍 We booked for 8:00 pm but the whole... More

Food was up there with the best, the service however was as good as expected. Lack of knowledge of the menu and left us with desert menu's for half an hour, could have got more drinks out of us as we were all empty. Overall was very good though, the lamb and the steak were both exceptional.
