Came here with my boyfriend and we had a wonderful time. Food and wine were exceptional. I had slow cooked rabbit and it was stunning. My boyfriend enjoyed his ox tail. We also ordered some braised red cabbage as a side dish and it was also divine. I enjoyed the wine and our starter - a whole baked cheese served... More

Well what can I say, turned up without a booking on saturday lunctime but where lucky enough to get a table will definitely book to be sure as will be returning here. Exciting, adventurous and very tasty food. As soon as my hubby saw snails he decided this was where we would eat. We had 3 courses and all where... More

Going back to this restaurant is always a treat, its great in the winter to have the lovely fire and homely surroundings.I'll be brief, I had the terrine, really great as did Mike, Michelle from New York had the risotto, one of the best she has ever had, this great praise from a food critic who travels widely, Mike &... Had a lovely meal here, good food though in my view overpriced. Staff very welcoming. Recommend the crab risotto to start and veal loin for main. Desserts were a bit disappointing. If you are arriving later into service be prepared for a number of items to be off the menu or with limited availability. In total around 6 dishes from... More

The cooking at Pea Porridge is sublime, and they also really do know their wines. Front of house is first class. You are made to feel immediately welcome. Everyone should try the nibbles, and the Tarte Tatin is the best in the known world.

Nice atmosphere, good service and a wide choice of interesting dishes, this a must if visiting Bury. We had a late lunch and was probably one of the best meals I have ever had. We will remember it for a long time. Not cheap but a really nice experience.

Recently I made a fourth visit to Pea Porridge and found that the little restaurant just gets better and better! Everything was a unusual for a modern British provincial eating place. The menu included game and offal but I tried the braised oxtails. With 'Pheasant's Tears' wine from The vineyards of Georgia they were superb. My fish soup starter was... More

Ate here with two old friends who I hadn't seen for far too long. Had a great meal. Lovely food, nice surroundings and attentive service without being rushed despite the fact that we had some reminiscing to do. Highly recommended.

The restaurant is a converted house in the back lanes of Bury. Thus it has lots of nooks and crannies and is quite intimate. We had a shelf of foodie books by our table. The service is very welcoming and friendly. It is comfortable and informal. The menus is full of dishes you won't see elsewhere, a hint of middle... More

This is a small resturant, booking essential in Bury St Emunds. It is in the same square as the Cannon pub so a pint then a meal is good. Friendly staff
