We were so pleased ti learn that the Lighthouse now allows dogs to join their owners as our annual pilgrimage to Aldeburgh is not complete without a visit to this superb restaurant. The service is friendly, chatty, humorous, efficient and tailored to your needs (if...More

Friends recommended this place to us and we weren't disappointed. It's small dog friendly like everywhere in aldeburgh which is great. Staff were just lovely - couldn't do enough. Delicious fish pie.....

Staff friendly, starter slow and lacking (until a touch of seasoning), main very tasty. Slow out the blocks. Strong finish. Redemption.

We took my mother on recommendation for an evening meal and were disappointed by the indifferent service and the quality of scallops (as a starter) and the cod dish.was meager. Overall we felt the meal was overpriced related to the quality of food.

Visited The Lighthouse on Sunday evening. Place clearly very popular. Service and food were both excellent. Highly recommended.

Food was good although the menu was quite limited, waiter very friendly and helpful. Although it was all nice enough as we were in the area, I’m not sure I would actively return.

We visited The Lighthouse on Monday evening which was a Bank Holiday. This notwithstanding, the service was excellent and the food memorable. I would certainly recommend this as a "must go" - although rather more for grown-ups than children in the evening!

My husband and I visit this restaurant for our 'special meal out' every time we are in Aldeburgh for a long weekend. It's worth reserving a table in advance as they get busy, even though it's pretty capacious inside. We are always made to feel...More

Sam and the team at The Lighthouse restaurant welcome every customer into a relaxed atmosphere which instantly makes you feel at home. With three different eating locations, downstairs, upstairs and the courtyard, The Lighthouse offers a 'Sleepy Suffolk' approach to eating out, with you dictating the pace of your evening. The Lighthouse chefs work tirelessly to continue to produce mouth-watering dishes for the A la carte menus and, the lunch & pre-cinema menu. With the creations of the dishes, Head Chef Guy Welsh ensures that the ingredients for all his dishes are as local as possible, with much of the fish coming right off the beach in Aldeburgh, our duck coming from Norfolk based Gressinghams, Five Winds butchers in Melton for our juicy steaks and local salad leaves from Sue Allen in Thorpeness. To round off the perfect evening, The Lighthouse offers a wide selection of tempting wines and local Adnams beers to compliment all of our dishes.
