I have been eating here since the Restaurant first opened and everything has remained consistently good and even improved over the years. Sam and Max have made this a very special place, the food is always amazing ringing in the seasonal changes and offering lots of choice all cooked superbly. The atmosphere is relaxed and it is a fun place... More

Spent a week in Aldeburgh recently and visited the Lighthouse on a Monday night. The fact that we returned on the Tuesday night plus again on Thursday lunchtime I think speaks volumes of how good this restaurant is. (can't remember why we didn't go on Wednesday) It has a fantastic variable menu, and serves high quality food at a very... More

We celebrated a joint family 70th birthday dinner here recently. We had been before but the rest of the party had not. Good service, good food, friendly and fun staff. Just found out my cousin wants to return for her anniversary celebration next year. We have been here several times and the restaurant has never let us down. We would... More

Four of us had a very enjoyable lunch on Saturday. Eat late at 2pm because we had visited the Aldeburgh Food Festival at Snape Maltings - also highly recommended. However, we never felt rushed although we were the only customers left at the end. Place was packed when we first arrived and really buzzing. Food and service were both spot-on... More

Food was fantastic - best meal in a few months. Specialises in fish, but the steaks were also very good. Oysters to start - everything you would want from a good oyster (i.e. Fresh and unadulterated). Top of the range wine list. Attentive, friendly and unobtrusive service.

Our lunch was delicious. We both had different dishes. You can get a two course meal at lunchtime for £10 which for the quality of... More

Sam and the team at The Lighthouse restaurant welcome every customer into a relaxed atmosphere which instantly makes you feel at home. With three different eating locations, downstairs, upstairs and the courtyard, The Lighthouse offers a 'Sleepy Suffolk' approach to eating out, with you dictating the pace of your evening.

The Lighthouse chefs work tirelessly to continue to produce mouth-watering dishes for the A la carte menus and, the lunch & pre-cinema menu. With the creations of the dishes, Head Chef Guy Welsh ensures that the ingredients for all his dishes are as local as possible, with much of the fish coming right off the beach in Aldeburgh, our duck coming from Norfolk based Gressinghams, Five Winds butchers in Melton for our juicy steaks and local salad leaves from Sue Allen in Thorpeness. To round off the perfect evening, The Lighthouse offers a wide selection of tempting wines and local Adnams beers to compliment all of our dishes.
