We booked very last minute and could only get a table at 9pm but they took my phone number and around 7pm said they could fit us in earlier-how many restaurants would do this? We had a lovely meal. Good choice of dishes, portions just right and impeccable service. No wonder this restaurant gets such good reviews.

Super welcome and service. The menu is extensive. 2 course lunch menu for £10 - excellent. The fish and chips were great as were the fish cakes. Thoroughly recommended.

Wonderful restaurant in Aldeburgh. Beautifully set up, with various dining areas including outside. Varied menu, lovely fish as one would expect in a seaside town but other dishes on offer if not a fish lover. Staff really bright and enthusiastic, felt like they were really happy to be there and enjoyed the customers company. Reasonably priced for Aldeburgh which can... More

This was our first visit to this Restaurant, so was unsure what to expect. Yes, we read the reviews, but I really only use them as a basic guide. The reviews, however, were spot on. The food was wonderful, and well presented, and the service first class. My only wish is that it was my local restaurant, which alas it's... More

I go to this restaurant regularly and each time I go the food is excellent. It is fresh, innovative and delicious. The `specials' always interesting, but some favourite's are kept, for example the `boozy banana pancakes' a must try!!! Sam and Maxine, along with their staff make all their customers very welcome so it is a very happy atmosphere from... More

The Lighthouse is a super restaurant on the high street in Aldeburgh, near to the Wentworth Hotel. It's been a winner for almost 20 years now and is s favorite among the many holiday makers who visit Aldeburgh every summer. The food is outstanding with an excellent wine card to accompany the menu. Prices are very reasonable for the excellent... More

We visited this restaurant last week without reservation. We were made to feel so welcome, by the owner. Nothing was to much trouble. The food was delicious, as was the wine. Can't wait to return.

We went here with a big family party of 10. The meals were excellent the wine was very good and I really enjoyed the evening. My only small issue that with ten people at a long table we weren't able to converse as we would have liked, could I respectfully suggest a circular table option ?

A varied menu, catering for most tastes; excellent food, cheerfully and efficiently served; a pleasing decor, relaxed but stylish. We were especially impressed by Angus, who took the time on a very busy evening to phone to let us know that we could have our table early, following an earlier request. His attention to all diners helped to create an... More

Sam and the team at The Lighthouse restaurant welcome every customer into a relaxed atmosphere which instantly makes you feel at home. With three different eating locations, downstairs, upstairs and the courtyard, The Lighthouse offers a 'Sleepy Suffolk' approach to eating out, with you dictating the pace of your evening.

The Lighthouse chefs work tirelessly to continue to produce mouth-watering dishes for the A la carte menus and, the lunch & pre-cinema menu. With the creations of the dishes, Head Chef Guy Welsh ensures that the ingredients for all his dishes are as local as possible, with much of the fish coming right off the beach in Aldeburgh, our duck coming from Norfolk based Gressinghams, Five Winds butchers in Melton for our juicy steaks and local salad leaves from Sue Allen in Thorpeness. To round off the perfect evening, The Lighthouse offers a wide selection of tempting wines and local Adnams beers to compliment all of our dishes.
