Called in after shopping for a look at this old pub, and was delighted by the choice of beer on offer, and the ambience, highly recommended for fans of proper drinks, a place to talk.

This is another largely unspoiled pub. Staff were very friendly and it is clearly used by locals. Excellent selection of real ales. This is well worth a visit.

good for beer and the famed pork pies are - adequate. No other food other than crisps available and the pub is pokey. Really just good for drinking and that's it.

A "proper" pub if you like. Very friendly staff with a large selection of ale and bottles from all over. We come here reasonably often and it never fails to disappoint. Bar snacks always good too!

Lovely, lovely local with an ever changing range of cracking real ales. Always a pint of Joules (or freedom for the lager boys!) and immense pork pies on. Lovely team of bar staff, with Rachel's quiet competence and Jason's dodgy jokes.

We come here quite often and it's one of the best pubs we have been to. It's local to us so it's ideal. Staff are always friendly and the atmosphere is great. We love the fact that this is a 'proper' pub. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Don't be put off by the location of exterior, inside there is a warm welcome and a large selection of real ales. Boards on the walk show description of all beers making choices easier. Seek it out and enjoy
