We went as a group for the beer festival. There was supposed to be live music also but it was just a solo artist in the lounge so being outside where the beer festival was being held we couldn't hear him. Good choice of beers at good prices. The staff were nice although went out of their way to serve... More

I think that we have stumbled upon our new favourite lunch time venue. We thought that we would take the dog with us to get her more used to being in different places and she seemed to have a good a time as us! We chose to sit outside to make the most of the sunshine. The menu was varied,... More

Having chosen the night of an England match to have a family dinner for 12 we didn't expect to get a reservation anywhere but Spittal Brook were brilliant! The food was good and considering there were 12 meals it came out pretty quickly and all together. We all had a great night and if we are ever in the same... More

Lunchtime meal for myself and my son. Needed somewhere honest and good and found it at the Spittal Brook. Great no nonsense food, friendly atmosphere, traditional pub décor, range of well kept ales..what more could you ask? It is becoming increasingly rare to find a traditional alehouse which hasn't been frumped up, let go or changed into an Indian restaurant.... More

Great little pub on the outskirts of town serving good pub grub and fine ales. Great place for a few jars and the footy and a game of darts. Folk band on a Tuesday are good if you like that thing.

We visited on Saturday 13th Feb and chose meals from the 'Valentines' menu - 2 meals and a bottle of wine for £20. The meals were excellent - well presented and well cooked. The wine was good too. Will definitely eat here again. The waitress was lovely and friendly too

Tried it out for lunch today. Have to say food was lovely. Our party chose to eat the mixed grill, gammon and traditional Sunday roast beef. All cooked to perfection and well presented, of excellent quality. Slight problem over desserts but sorted without hesitation. Particularly appreciated the head chef coming to our table to personally apologise re desert menu available.... More

I felt compelled to write this review as the food was just so darned good. I walked in to a pub with barking dogs, sport on the television (great result for England in the T20) and the typical bonhomie between locals and staff you'd expect from an establishment that has worked hard from the ground up. Sure, it's a pub... More

First impression on walking in was of a working mans bar rather than cosy lounge, however really good atmosphere and very pleasant service would definitely recommend. If in the area will revisit. Food was good and reasonably priced.
