Wonderful position in market square outside entrance to cathedral. Great for people watching. Coffee, tea and plum cake good. Sadly flapjack undercooked - crunchy crystallised sugar. Friendly and helpful staff.

Poor service, terrible coffee, still trading (just) on its great location. Why can't a place like this use more imagination with menus and train staff to offer exceptional service? In short, don't bother!

I have been in here twice & each time felt disappointed. The food is ok but the place feels claustrophobic & dark. I didn't feel overly welcome.

Visited today for the first time and had breakfast. We were impressed by the menu choices for breakfast, but also for the lunch menu. Very friendly service. The food was very fresh and obviously prepared to order. The only tiny little bit of criticism was that part of the toast tasted of onion. This meant that it had been placed... More

Popped in on a Saturday afternoon, very busy, but staff's politeness and attention to detail was not affected. Had a lovely cake and cup of tea, really nice atmosphere. Will be sure to come again

Basically, went in and sat down at an empty table, as one would. We watched several groups being warmly welcomed as they came in through the door while we appeared to be invisible. The last straw proved to be when one table of people who had come in after us was served and we continued to be ignored - to... More

Lovely setting, new ownership. Service is good and the quality is great. The brownies; produced on site like everything else, were the best I have had....they make an effort here...Visit and enjoy

Personable staff who went the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. Several folk were greeted by name as they were "regulars". My 3-egg scrambled eggs on buttered toast was perfect: creamy and tasty with ample toast. My husband's bacon & fried egg sandwich was equally good. My tea-pot was topped up with hot water as soon as they saw that... More
