Glastonbury is a lovely town, especially on a sunny market day,and there is no shortage of places to eat and drink. They do mostly tend, though, toward the characteristically bohemian nature of the town. This place, directly opposite the Abbey itself, is pretty much the polar opposite being almost as quintessentially, traditionally English as you can get. Plaster and timber walls, china... More

Went in for tea on a day that was very cold. The warm intimate room was hosting a large party but gave us a table right away and then presented us with a delightful pot of tea and tray of sandwiches and cakes. We had only ordered 2 Glastonbury tea plates for 3 of us but still took some out... More

Having just walked up and around Glastonbury Tor, and then through the town, we decided to nip into this Tea Room for a cuppa. However, once seated, we could not resist having something to eat - everything looked so appetizing. We both settled for a Cheese & Ham ploughman's - fantastic!! Great portion sizes, beautifully fresh cheese and off the... More

This appears to be a very old fashioned traditional tearoom. Their sunday roasts and cream teas are popular. However, we are in Glastonbury, so home made soups, vegetarian dishes and non-dairy milk is to be found. It's not a place frequented by the young, but personal service and nice for a quiet chat.

I have a very soft spot for the Abbey Tea Rooms. I'll explain: it's actually quite difficult to do simple food well, you must have very good ingredients and someone with a bit of experience and even historical knowledge. Take a scone for example... it should be slightly moist, reasonably firm and not taste of bicarbonate of soda. Easy you... More

Lovely helpful staff, fantastic home made cake selection, good choice of teas. We had the wholemeal scones which were the most delicious we have ever tasted. My husband highly recommends the bakewell tart too. Well worth visiting here.

We ate here twice while in the Glastonbury area for a few days. They had wonderful tea, scones, and desserts -- especially appreciated the gluten free scones which were the best I had on my entire three week trip!. The wait staff had a terrific sense of humor and were very attentive. I personally had a delicious salad that had... More

Although this looked more like a tea room than a restaurant, our evening meal was first class. The enchillada (recommended by another diner) was exceptionally good and the ginger sponge and cream was also very nice. We - and everyone else - also thoroughly enjoyed the harpist's very varied musical repertoire - folk, jazz, pop, etc. The whole evening was... More

We came here for morning coffee after a walk round the abbey. The interior is marvellously English tea shop with a fine array of cakes to choose from. Although there was an extensive menu we had coffee with bakewell tart with clotted cream and lemon drizzle cake. It was all rather delicious and I would have no problem returning again.

We were going to go to the Gecko, but as we parked outside this place though we would try it. The teacake went down well and the apple cake with clotted cream was so good I never even left crumbs. It is one of those old fashioned places with proper cups and the milk jug served on a saucer. As... More
