Had some good food and drinks which were reasonably priced. Reserved a table in advance to watch the live football which had a good view of the tv.

I visited for dinner with colelagues and we were seated in the freexing cold cellar bar with the rear doors open in winter, no heating or blankets. Whilst the bar staff upstairs were pleasant they seemed understaffed and did not have a drinks service downstairs...for our large table of guests (pre booked online). The menu was very limited - mostly fried food and no healthy options. Such a shame for a pub that could be a gem in the centre of Bath.More

Goodness me! Who is the chap managing this place? Extreme passive aggression is no way to build a customer base just in case you were unclear on the best way to appeal to customers. Extremely slow service with the manager doing everything in his power...to avoid eye contact and serve customers. Tone, manner and a willingness to make people feel at home and welcome in your establishment are essential components of being a leader in the hospitality sector. The manager on duty last night had none of this.More

Honestly Fullers need to get a grip of this place. There seems to be more managers than actual staff, there’s a rather tempestuous blond bar server who seemed to be having a bad day. Nothing seemed to be being served it was as if Basil...Fawlty has branched out. Had food which was very average and expensive, young lad behind the bar was great and dealt with the random nagging from the highly paid help. Probably needs a rethink as there’s much better pubs in Bath and this should be with the right staff one of themMore

So disappointed. What should have been a convivial pre Christmas family gathering was so disappointing. We had pre dooked and ordered our food booked the upstairs room. We were on time ant our waiter did his best. The food was at best bizarre. The chewy...mushroon ravioli starter, Tiny Single fishcake. The mains arrived the turkey roast was cold sent back and arrived 15 minutes later still cold but covered in a warm gravy. That also was rejected. Other mains included a steak pie on an apple sauce! Garnished with a dozen sprout leaves. The pie was great but not much and a very strange combo. No veg nothing else. Having rejected the 4 turkey mains, a bowl of chips was offered. The puddings were fine. On the basis of value for money very poor. Presentation poor Combination of flavours poor Service. He did what he could under difficult circumstances. I felt sorry for him. Ultimately. I will not come back here. They really need to get a grip. I can only hope this was a blip.More

Went to this pub to watch the rugby and have dinner. The service was terrible, spent more time being chasing off tables than serving us even though we spent alot of money in there. When we asked the staff why their attitude was so poor...they just smirked, very disappointing wouldn't recommend to anyone! Sorry has the potential to be a great pub just has the wrong staff in there, don't expect to be given dinner then to have have to ask for cutlery! Just not good enoughMore

Excellent beer, well kept and great range. Friendly bar staff and it is lively inside or outside in the lively beer garden near the river. Only criticism is that it’s the most expensive pi t I’ve had in Bath, so a bit a tourist trap,...but a very nice one at that!More

Sunday evening, I’ve just popped in for a quick cider, old rosy. A beautiful pint, the staff were all very cheerfully happy, which can make or break a pub. The other customers were all effected by the atmosphere and enjoying their drinks. A brilliant finish...to the evening.More

Popped in on a visit to Bath as had 30 minutes before restaurant booking. Decent selection of beers and gins but staff not knowledgable about any local beers, they had none and Bath doesn’t make any? River side area not really river side. You don’t...sit at a table overlooking the river. Was also a bit messy. It has a quirky interior and the makings of a top pub but a little lacking at the moment.More

This used to be a great pub - what happened? Visited this afternoon for coffee. The barmaid didn’t know what a Flat White was, so we ordered a Latte and a Cappacino. Ten minutes later we were still waiting- and we were the only people...in the bar. So I asked if coffee was coming “yeah, we’re out of cups. I’ll have to go to the kitchen”. Another 7 minutes and 2 half cups of dishwater arrived. As the final insult the barmaid coughed over us as she slopped them onto our table. I’ve only given one star because there is no option to leave none.More

What a total rip off, for vegans. Totally avoid. The menu advertised on internet is not available. The staff are quite rude, the only nice one was the Italian chef. The vegan main was advertised as tofu skewer, but in fact was 3 pieces of...tofu - cost £8 !!! No veg or anything, just the tofu. Bath was such a nice city, but this place was the only thing that ruined my visit. Avoid at all cost if you are vegan, as they don't care about the customers.More

The food wasn’t that great, the peri peri chicken burger was tasteless. The Manager (tall dark haired man) went around all the tables about 1:30 saying that the place was closing at 3:30, not polite at all. This was our first time in Bath. When...ordering food and trying to say where our table was as the table had no number, same person getting arsey with us! You need to sort your people skills! Won’t be coming here again!More

came for work drinks, in a small, quiet group. ordered and paid for all drinks, no fuss. one mixer paid for was missing, waited for AGES and nobody returned to the bar to serve us. my colleague, fed up, popped behind the bar and took...the mixer we had already paid for. when confronted, she promptly apologised sincerely and we showed proof of payment. the bar woman, red-faced and shouting loudly in front of all the other patrons, refused to allow her to speak, spoke viciously with clear intent to humiliate, in a completely over-the-top and shocking reaction. we were told to finish our drink and leave, she repeatedly said "I want you to leave", with no clear explanation or any other member of staff present, obviously with a personal issue with the use of 'I' rather than any establishment policy. she then left to very conspicuously bad-mouth our group to another staff member, before returning and telling us to "drink up" and "drink faster". Unfathomably abysmal service, the most horrendous and bullying behaviour I have seen outside of primary school age children, and an establishment that none of us will ever return to. As someone who has worked in hospitality before, if i were to have acted like that towards a customer, my previous employers would have fired me on the spot.More

We went to the Boater to welcome some new colleagues to the team and ended up being thrown out like we were a bunch of hooligans. The drama began when one of the drinks we had ordered was not served. A colleague went to the...bar to get it, waited a long time and as there was nobody there she helped herself to the mixer from the fridge - we had paid for it. To be fair, my colleague then immediately apologized for helping herself and said what she did was wrong, however, the bar woman wasn't having any of it. She came to our table and aggressively took the mixer away, the mixer we had paid for. My colleague apologized again and again but the bar woman didn't accepted it and told us to leave, she did this a few more time which was extremely embarrassing. Her reaction was completely out of proportion and extremely rude. Glad our night was saved by having lovely drinks and food at the Crystal Palace.More
