Called in here by chance over the Easter weekend and what a great surprise, a proper pub with a friendly and funny landlord (Paul) and a great bunch of locals who made us feel at home. A good selection of beers and food looked good...More
We do love this place. Paul the landlord is very welcoming with his witty banter, involving others around the pub providing a community feeling, there is no malice and the pub is very friendly. Imagine your perfect local pub in the middle of the city...More
Fantastic little pub, the owner was absolutely brilliant, witty banter and quips. Had a ‘light bite’ from the menu for £5.25, big sandwich, good portion of chips and a little side of salad, excellent price. Would have loved to stay all day but heading home.

Called into the volunteer rifle mans arms to stay out of the rain. What a result. Stayed all afternoon. Great atmosphere and really friendly banter. Loved it. Will definitely return if I am in Bath again.
We had plans, men to watch the Rugby, women go to Spa for pampering....... It was raining hard so we took refuge in this quaint little boozer, first mistake! green beers, second mistake, green and black shots courtesy of the Landlord, third mistake...... lost count...More
Good beer, good cider, wonderful food cooked by the Italian chef. The bar man is a proper character who shares his eclectic taste in music and GSOH with all. The place is small so time your visit right as it can be packed... looking forward...More
