Good Coffee, good cake- crap décor, needs an injection of ambience!...and a good makeover. Also the Fire door was locked which is a fire safety offence- why lock the fire door? This place obviously relies on its tempting window display of cakes but I'd hardly call it a proper patisserie. Tired, boring and potentially unsafe premises with that locked fire... More

We stumbled upon this shop while we stroll from the Roman Baths looking for a place for lunch. We didn’t know that this is a dessert shop. Only after when we sat down and were very hungry to look for another but it gave us a decent meal. I got Prosciutto Ham and Melon as a starter, Chicken Brochette as... More

Queued for a table but service and food well worth the wait Great to find an old fashioned patisserie with modern day ideas about timing and service I loved it and will return My mother would be in her element here... sweet tooth very satisfied and the eggs royale looked divine!

Disappointing slow service , the staff seem unable to cope with volume coming from the takeaway customers so the restaurant seems to suffer. Hot food was OK not great but I didn't have time to wait for cake that I had specifically come for.

Popped in for coffee and cake. Sign said wait to be seated so stood for a while. Eventually asksd waitress who said just take any table We sat and sat and sat even though the place was not really busy - the staff just did not seem interested. I got up and went to counter only to be told abruptly... More

I am always on a quest for the a really good chocolate mousse and I Patisserie Valerie has the best. The real test is in the chocolate flavor and theirs passes with high marks. The chocolate is quite smooth; no bitterness and no lingering unpleasant aftertaste. I suspect, but could not verify, that they use a high quality Belgian chocolate.... More

If you happen to be shopping near High Street, be sure to stop by the Patisserie Valerie for breakfast or lunch. The food is delicious, the service is very good and it is reasonably priced. I loved the eggs Benedict on brioche - Yum!

After a wonder around the shops, my mother and I decided to stop for a light lunch when we came by this quaint looking patisserie. Maybe a cup of coffee and a sandwich we thought. We both ended up opting for a meat pie with gravy which was delicious, followed by one of the fab selection of cakes. Not such... More

Barely had to queue, despite being in the December sales rush. Nice quiet corner without any noisy music. Lots of fresh finger sandwiches, small quiche, scones with jam and clotted cream, tea/coffee to your liking and small cream cakes. Upon leaving we were presented with a box of four very large cream cakes to take home - all for the... More
