I am always on a quest for the a really good chocolate mousse and I Patisserie Valerie has the best. The real test is in the chocolate flavor and theirs passes with high marks. The chocolate is quite smooth; no bitterness and no lingering unpleasant aftertaste. I suspect, but could not verify, that they use a high quality Belgian chocolate.... More

If you happen to be shopping near High Street, be sure to stop by the Patisserie Valerie for breakfast or lunch. The food is delicious, the service is very good and it is reasonably priced. I loved the eggs Benedict on brioche - Yum!

After a wonder around the shops, my mother and I decided to stop for a light lunch when we came by this quaint looking patisserie. Maybe a cup of coffee and a sandwich we thought. We both ended up opting for a meat pie with gravy which was delicious, followed by one of the fab selection of cakes. Not such... More

Barely had to queue, despite being in the December sales rush. Nice quiet corner without any noisy music. Lots of fresh finger sandwiches, small quiche, scones with jam and clotted cream, tea/coffee to your liking and small cream cakes. Upon leaving we were presented with a box of four very large cream cakes to take home - all for the... More

Went for a festive afternoon tea and we were not disappointed it was lovely. Staff very helpfull when changing some of the sandwiches to ones we prefered. Cakes and scones were yummy washed down with a nice pot of tea! Absolutely stuffed coming out of the shop but well worth it.

Not our usual choice for lunch but decided as it was nearly Christmas we could be forgiven for just having gateaux for lunch. Good choice. I had the double chocolate and my husband had Black Forest. Superb.

This was sadly nothing like one would expect from a French patisserie. The pastry on the very expensive raspberry tart was thick and stale tasting. It was reminiscent of the pastry on cheap jam tarts bought from the supermarket. We will never be repeating this experience again! I have eaten cakes at the Bournemouth branch in the past and they... Could not fault this afternoon tea, very good quality food, and tea! They were helpful in changing sandwiches to our taste, and refilling tea pots with hot water when asked. I eat afternoon tea a lot and this compared really well.excellent value.will definitely go again. Delicious warm moist scones!

After living in France for over 10 years I have to say French cakes are pretty poor compared to the cakes you find in a British bakers, however they do make a nice croissant. Therefore now being a resident of Bath I went here to buy one. It was rock hard, like it had been there for at least a... More

We visited hear on 28 November for a lunchtime snack. The café was busy and welcomingly warm on a bitterly cold day. We were warmly greeted and shown to a table. There is an extensive offering of tempting light meals and delicious looking cakes and fancies. We weren’t really hungry, just taking the opportunity for a drink and a warm... More
