The concierge at our hotel recommended this restaurant to us. We were greeted as soon as we walked in, and it was a warm genuine feeling. The menu was quite different and we selected the sardines and salmon to start, followed by chicken and the Sardinian goat dish, which was fantastic. The wine was an excellent choice and that was... Second visit in six weeks. Excellent selection of fish on the 'specials' board. The food is well presented without being too fussy. Good, short wine list and staff able to advise about the selection of wine. Best to book, as it can get busy.

I have always been interested in the food of Sardinia, but have not encountered any Italian restaurants that focus on that island, until eating at Aio in Bath during a 3-week vacation in England. The food was well-prepared, delicious and interesting. Be sure to try the Sardinian flatbread, pane carasau (or music bread, for the paper thin sheets). We had... More

I really liked the quality of the ingredients, the friendliness of the staff, but I am onky giving it 3 stars because I believe the menu could do with more variation and perhaps smaller prices. The price/portion ratio could be improved. Apart from that, food was good, fresh , tasty, just a bit pricey for the quantity . Great location... More

Initially my wife and I found the service a little rushed but this settled down as we wanted to savour our meal and relax. This is fine dining but with substantial portions which created a very satisfying overall evening. The goat course and the cuttle fish with crab claw were excellent. My wife and I both had three courses, two... More

Warm and cosy Italian restaurant in George Street, at the top of Milsom Street. Flavourful food of very good quality. Smallish menu with added daily specials. Nice selection of wines, also by the glass. Very friendly and helpful service. It's certainly not cheap, but you get here what you pay for. Recommended.

Absolutely wonderful meal, friendly and attentive service - we were so pleased that they managed to find us a table on a Saturday night when we hadn't booked. We both had delicious and wonderfully fresh sardines to start, then swordfish and stuffed rabbit as mains. Fab battered courgettes on the side, and a lovely salsa. If we lived locally, this... More

Visited this restaurant with my mum on a Saturday out shopping. It's a small restaurant but nicely laid out with two lovely window tables overlooking a few tables outside. We erred on the side of caution for a first visit and went for the set lunch costing 18 pounds for 3 courses and we really enjoyed our meals, very nicely... More

Roughly translated from Sardinian, Ai means come and join us, its an appropriate title for one of Baths most welcoming restaurants. Currently the only restaurant in the South West specialising in Sardinian cuisine, Ai, on George Street close to the Assembly Rooms and The Circus is a unique dining proposition, providing Baths gastronomes with an opportunity to step outside of the Italian comfort zone. A modern interior inspired by the warm tones and natural materials of a traditional trattoria leads through to a suntrap courtyard just made for enjoying Ais summery cuisine. Head chef Roberto Lilliu puts years of experience working in Mediterranean kitchens to use here, with the menu full of the warm flavours of Southern Europe.
