Food was 7/10. Thin gravy and runny cheese sauce on the cauliflower cheese. Not the best cut of meat.

We booked a table on Saturday 20th August for 1300hrs. As much as the food was really nice the wait for was some 1hr 15 minutes. We also had to wait some 15 minutes for our second round of drinks as well as asking twice. We ordered at 1345hrs and finally got the food at 1500hrs. We highly recommend that... More

Friendly attentive staff serving excellent food at reasonable prices in a charming old Inn. The menu choice was extensive and the building cosy and clean.

Despite negative reviews on here we decided to try it and we were very lucky to have received lovely service and food, quick and reasonable and more choice than other nearby pub. Table bit sticky but all in all a decent evening. Litter outside a lot when we passed in the day and glasses left on tables but think they... More

Last weekend I visited for a get together with friends. The pub was very busy as its set a lovely location. You could see all staff where working very hard. The service at the bar was very quick considering the queue and amount of people. There was a wait on food which was very understanding. The food arrived quicker than... More

As an occasional visitor to the George Inn - and having had many enjoyable meals here - it seems to have become over-commercialised and obsessed with extracting as much money as possible from gullible clients. There are better establishments in the near vicinity and they seem to be attracting the more discerning client. The George Inn is in a great... More

We have visited the George on many occasions before and have not been disappointed. However on this occasion we felt let down. We waited a very long time for our food to arrive, despite there being no signs of anyone else eating as it was around 4pm, so not a busy lunch or evening time. We waited at least 45... More

The venue seemed perfect for canal boat visitors. The menu was extensive and we discussed at the time ( before any food arrived!) how they could offer such a range. The answer was apparent once the food arrived- they did it all on the cheap with minimal skill or effort. It was a catalogue of irritations... The black pudding starter... More

Visited this pub on several occasions, but this time the food seemed very average and took about an hour for the main course to arrive [ no starter ] , the pub wasn't very busy

We visited The George for lunch after a walk along the canal (which was lovely). We parked at The George with the idea of combining a canal walk with a pub lunch before returning home after a brilliant 2 day break in Bath. What a sour note to finish our break on! The customer service was so awful we didn't... More
