We visited the George Inn with friends one Sunday afternoon. The pub is situated by a river so is in a lovely location. We hadn’t booked but luckily the restaurant wasn’t too busy when we arrived. Originally we had hoped for light bites as we only wanted a small snack each. I don’t know whether it was due to it... More

Booked a table for Sunday 2pm for 5, arrived 10 minutes early and promptly seated and served drinks. Nice menu but the Sunday roast won the day and quickly ordered. And then the news, food would be 45 to 60 mins, do you want something to pick at? Garlic bread was offered and added to bill!! Hardly complimentary? Food eventually... More

It was clear upon our arrival that the pub was certainly busier than our last visit. It has been refurbished but hasn't lost is uniqueness. We hadn't booked a table, however this didn't seem to be a problem. We ordered our meals which arrived in due course. The food was lovely and staff friendly. The risotto was absolutely delicious and... More

Turned up for lunch and to meet friends, the pub was busy and we were told there were no tables available, however after my husband enquired we were told we could sit outside and then order food at the bar, which we did. We were told the waiting time was up to 45 minutes. We were ok with this as... More

Arriving here to a pre-booked table on a weekday evening, having moored our boat nearby on the Kennet and Avon canal which this hostelry borders, we entered the bar. A few tables were occupied outside, and it became apparent quickly that the restaurant was pretty busy and I soon picked up on a feeling that chaos reigned. We waited a... More

Arrived here on a Friday lunchtime with friends after doing the Bath Skyline walk starting/finishing at this pub. Plenty of car parking. We asked for a table for 3 and were asked to wait at the bar whilst they cleared a table for us.We were then shown to our table in a matter of minutes but a shame we were... More

A nice pub/restaurant by the canal. Relaxed atmosphere and the food was good and the staff were very accommodating and friendly. 2 nice outside eating arrears for when the weather is fine. The rear eating area is safe if you have children with you as it is fully enclosed. After a nice walk down the canal it is a welcoming... More

Stopped off for lunch en route back from two tunnels cycle excursion. Unfortunately my 7 year old son fell off his bike and we had to end our trip abruptly. Made the best of it though and throughly enjoyed our lunch here. The summertime beef burgers were delicious as was my sons chicken burger. As an aside I asked a... More
