Not sure about the restaurant but the bar had a great atmosphere and a good place to have a drink. Prices good and bar staff friendly.

We ate here as our usual choice for a pre match meal was full. Pleasant surroundings in an upstairs eating area but the prices were expensive even for Bath. A round of drinks, two orange and lemonade and a beer were over £10 which was not a good start! My cheeseburger came with chips but at £12 was very expensive,... More

We had a good pint of beer, but 1 pint and 175ml glass of wine cost us over £10. The most expensive round we have had by far while on holiday in Bath. We left to find somewhere a little cheaper. The loos were not too brilliant either and the bar staff not very friendly. I could not understand why... More

I found this little gem to have everything needed in a good, traditional pub, and nothing more. They don't try to be everything to everyone, as many pubs have become these days. Expect to find a decent variety of hand-pulled cask ales from nearby Bath Ales brewing, each served in a proper pint glass, typically bearing the brew's name. It's... More

Quite a noisey Pub, on first impressions, good for discussions, consists of a series of snugs on the ground floor, Bar is non-snug, new-kitchen look, good range of real ales and local ciders. Upstairs, a more food-orientated area. I was the only one in the upstairs area all night, because it was quiet in there and I needed to draft... More

Went here to try their cider. Did not enjoy it as there was no flavour. Tried the carbonated version. Still no joy.

The Salamander is basically a Pub but does do food... No food served when I was there but a Bath Pub with friendly staff... Only reason gave 3* was fact didn't offer food the day there and very quiet whilst over similar venues busy... Bit like my school reports in 'Could try harder'!

Owned by Bath Ales and showcasing their range which is well-kept and delicious. The bar staff are friendly and the ambience is relaxed traditional pub with a modern twist. We just had drinks before going to the Rotisserie next door and enjoyed the experience.

The Salamander is what I think of when I think of a pub: friendly people, comfortable and unpretentious space, good beer and good simple food.

I visited the Salamander with a colleagues from work for a leaving do. There were about 15 of us so we managed to persuade them to reserve a table for us which was good as it was quite busy when we arrived. Most people had the Salamander cheeseburger which was served with pickle and chips however I had the chili... More

The Salamander is great city-centre pub, 'The Sally' serves good food and a fine choice of beers from Bath Ales and beyond, and welcomes a friendly, eclectic audience. It's small, it's snug but it's oh so special! The Salamander is tucked neatly away just off Queen Square in the heart of the Georgian city of Bath. Historically a 'steak and chop house', it now consists of a wonderfully simple bar on the ground floor and an impressive dining room complete with galley kitchen upstairs.Using the finest produce from local suppliers, 'The Sally' is renowned for its imaginative and varied menu, available both downstairs in the bar and upstairs.
