Owned by Bath Ales and showcasing their range which is well-kept and delicious. The bar staff are friendly and the ambience is relaxed traditional pub with a modern twist. We just had drinks before going to the Rotisserie next door and enjoyed the experience.

The Salamander is what I think of when I think of a pub: friendly people, comfortable and unpretentious space, good beer and good simple food.

I visited the Salamander with a colleagues from work for a leaving do. There were about 15 of us so we managed to persuade them to reserve a table for us which was good as it was quite busy when we arrived. Most people had the Salamander cheeseburger which was served with pickle and chips however I had the chili... More

Came here for a drink and they have a good selection of Bath ales and ciders. I wasn't sure what to have and the server allowed us to try a few drinks and advised me on what to have. Quite a small pub but a really good atmosphere. The food looked great, though we didn't order any.

Called here on a Tuesday lunchtime. Pleasant atmosphere but fairly quiet. A range of Bath Ales on tap. Both of us had fish finger butty, mine was excellent but one of the pieces of fish in my partner's butty was cold. Will return though.

We visited with our toddler for late lunch, and had a delicious beef and ale pie, with lots of gravy, and the most delicious caramelised carrots I have ever had. We were seated up stairs, where it was quiet enough for us to have a peaceful and restful time with our little one, after a long walk in the city.

Light dinner option for us. The meat pies, burgers and fish and chips were amazing. Bath Beer options didn't hurt either on a warm afternoon. Service friendly and prompt. Would eat here again!

Good service, well located pub. Nice and quiet upstairs seating area. Only thing was that the menu was very limited, but the burger & chips I had was yummy! Love the quirky name of the pub as well!

Hen party of 14 dated 23/07/2016 late afternoon..........They didn't turn us away!! The barman (sorry don't remember his name) was very patient with all the rowdy girls and Service with a smile!! The poor man was used for some of the dares but took it all in good spirit. Thank you! ;) x

The Salamander is great city-centre pub, 'The Sally' serves good food and a fine choice of beers from Bath Ales and beyond, and welcomes a friendly, eclectic audience. It's small, it's snug but it's oh so special! The Salamander is tucked neatly away just off Queen Square in the heart of the Georgian city of Bath. Historically a 'steak and chop house', it now consists of a wonderfully simple bar on the ground floor and an impressive dining room complete with galley kitchen upstairs.Using the finest produce from local suppliers, 'The Sally' is renowned for its imaginative and varied menu, available both downstairs in the bar and upstairs.
