We were on a visit to Bath and looking for a place to eat when we came across this pub. On entry we were greeted by the bar staff and found a table to use. Our order was taken and the food came within a very short time, all appeared to be freshly prepared, rather than the usual chain pub... More

Found Sam Wellers and enticed inside by a local having a cigarette outside. Ordered a bottle of Shiraz and two steaks for myself and my friend, and it arrived quickly, well cooked and tasty. Had to fork up up front because the barmaid said no tabs were allowed around Christmas! Would probably have had an extra pint, coffee and sweet... More

Lovely atmosphere and amazing food, I had peppered sailor steak and with stilton cheese and it was really tasty, cooked perfectly rare as I asked. My friends had a brie and tomato baguette and a new york chicken sandwich. Nice service, the barman was really pleasant and he let me try two red wine, really good shiraz btw. Definitely worth... Small pub with not much seating space but a busy atmosphere, drinks seemed expensive as did the food but it is central. Beer quality OK but have had much better.

Called in for lunch. Pub is quite small and very busy, but we were able to get a table for 2 quite quickly. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is excellent, but wine is quite expensive. Toilets downstairs very clean.

Disappointing visit food average. service very lacking. Food placed on table not asked if we would like any sauces. My scampi had been so over cooked that some tartare sauce would helped wash it down. The landlady seemed more keen to discuss her bad trip advisor review with customers at the bar then give any attentive service to other customers.... More

Visiting Bath for 3 days from London, Wandered past this evening on our first night and decided to just pop in for a few drinks. After seeing others food arrive we decided to stay for food ... so glad we did! Proper pub grub, good quality, huge portions and tasty to the last mouthful. Pork belly for me and burger... More
