Visiting on a week night after the busy Easter bank holiday we found the staff welcoming, the atmosphere calming and the food delicious. Very good value for money, don't leave without having a desert!

Visited at the weekend. Lovely food and equally lovely staff. New waitress full of enthusiasm and Michel his usual welcoming self.

I visited La Barrique on a week night before goign to a gig. The service and food was excellent and I will certainly be going to visit again. The atmosphere in the restaurant was laid back, but also professional. Myself and husband had the pre-theatre menu which was excellent value and if we had been richer, we would have ordered... More

Overall, lovely experience for a romantic evening. Order 5-7 plates for two adults. Recommend not sitting downstairs near the kitchen as it is quite busy and can be loud. We had a reservation and were seated promptly but then our waitress forgot about us. She apologized because the restaurant was understaffed for the crowd. Apple tart dessert is wonderful!

Whilst on a shopping trip to Bath we had lunch here, attracted by online reviews. It is just a couple of minutes walk from the Milsom Street shops. The bistro was busy (all but one table occupied) and just one server managed 24 diners. This meant that service was slow, but nevertheless, as we were in no hurry it was... More

We went to la barrique for a light dinner recently before going to the theatre. We tried the duck confit which is done in a shepherds pie style and was delicious, the scallops and the sea bass, along with some side dishes. It was a nice find and made a change from all of the chain restaurants in Bath where... More

We've eaten at La Barrique on several occasions because the petit plas style food suits every occasion and the location between the main Charlotte Street car park and the shops is ideal. We are looking forward to going back there later this month with a group of ten of us when I'm sure all tastes will be catered for.

Bistro La Barrique is really convenient for the nearby Theatre Royal, and if you check with Michel before the theatre he is usually happy to take last orders as late as 1000pm - most unusual for Bath where some restaurants seem to enjoy closing their doors in the face of late diners. Recently he kept the bistro open for a... More

We happened across this bistro while wondering around Bath and boy are we glad we did. We arrived mid-afternoon so it was pretty quiet but we were given a warm welcome. We took advantage of the lunchtime deal where you could choose two of their 'petit plats' and a side dish for £9.95. We struggled to choose because they all... More
