I visited The Chequers with my husband as part of his birthday celebrations. We were greeted, offered complimentary fizz and seated upstairs. From start to finish the service was excellent, we were really impressed. The food itself is delicious. It's presented beautifully and tastes just as good. I thought the portion sizes were just right. We enjoyed our starters and... More

Planned to come for a drink but spontaneously stayed for a delicious early lunch as the front of house team were really helpful and able to fit us in. My third visit, but a first for my guest, will definitely be back again!

I chose to celebrate my birthday at the Chequers and was not disappointed, the service was great as was the food. The location is a bit of a trek from the centre of Bath but walkable for most and definitely worth it. We all had a lovely meal in warm and convivial surroundings. A little gem!

Went to Chequers for Valentines and had a lovely evening. We ate in the upstairs restaurant which offers an amazing view of the busy kitchen staff in full action preparing everyone's meals through a large glass wall window. The ambiance was very cool. Relaxed and intimate. A very good selection of wines, and the food was delicious as always. We... More

Four of us had roast beef - excellent. Lovely service, just the best roast dinner. Not cheap - but you get what you pay for! Will definitely return.

Disappointed in this place - In my opinion, overpriced and the selection is pretty limited. I ordered fish and chips (£13.95). When they came, I wondered where the chips were. They were placed neatly in a single line underneath the fish...! Don't think I'll be returning in a hurry.

Hi Mike, what a shame you thought that our fish and chips do not represent good value for money...not least because it's probably the very first time that any guest has left The Chequers dissatisfied with the dish. We do feel that the price reflects the quality and portion size of the dish and is in-line with the local market... More

Have been many times with family and, or, friends. Informal, pub-like but really a restaurant. Sunday lunch, which goes on pretty much all day, is super popular but my favourites are porobably the normal lunches or dinners. Smallish selection of beers are really good, as are wines. Service very good also. Owned by a small chain that also has the... More
