Went yesterday for Sunday roast. As a vegetarian I often am left unimpressed with Sunday roasts, however this was the best roast i've had so far! Quality of food and presentation was really good including the service. My husband had the beef and said it was cooked really well. Highly recommend!

Absolutely wonderful dinner. We had scallops and chorizo for starter, duck for main and goats curd for pudding. All were fantastic. Great wine. There were desert wine recommendations to go with the puddings which was a nice touch. Would highly recommend to anyone for dinner. Not too expensive considering the high quality food. Attentive staff. My only thing I think... More

The Chequers looks like your average local but its a bit Tardis like. Walk in through the front door to a warm open plan area with a fire, sit at the tables for food and good ale but if you want to eat in the gastro pub - go upstairs where there is an open kitchen and dining tables. Its... More

This is a great bath gastro pub for a Sunday lunch. The chicken was succulent and the vegetarian option really tasty. The service was very attentive but not intruding!

Visited on a Friday night and it went above expectations. Fantastic food, best scallop dish I've eaten, great service and atmosphere, can't recommend highly enough.

Although it looks like a pub, I don't think this is really the sort of place where you would have a few pints. Charming and quaint location. Nice atmosphere as it looks like a pub sp its more informal that a restaurant of an equivalent standard. The food while not cheap is excellent, very moreish and of a very high standard.Gorgeous... I love this place! It is not the cheapest but it has a lot of character and the food is amazing! My hubby and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary at the Chequers while in Bath for the weekend. The restaurant offered complimentary bubbly for the two of us which I thought was a very nice gesture. The wine selection... More

Really unusual presentation of food. Service was great. Shame the couple next to us argued the whole evening! (The tables were quite close together so was a little awkward!) Easy to book on line. Worth going.

Not your typical classic pub design nor very modern. Just the right mix that makes you feel relaxed. Not a big selection of dishes but everyone can find something decent. Excellent scallops! I'd go back just for that. The hake and gnocchi were pretty good but not in the same league with the scallops. They are maybe a bit under... More

Opened in 1776 the Chequers is located near the Circus. We enjoyed a classic Sunday roast dinner accompanied by roasted vegetables and a Yorkshire pudding. The servers were friendly and helpful in explaining dishes that we were unfamiliar with. Although the building is old, inside the Chequers is more modern. Upscale and yet comfortable.
