We have been twice here now, both times on an ad hoc basis turning up not having made a reservation. On each occasion they were very accommodating this time we sat In The lovely beer garden in the glorious sun my wife had the Sunday nut roast , which was full of flavours and I had the beef divine. The... More

One of four pubs owned by the Bath Pub Company, the Marlborough Tavern dating from Edwardian times is quite historic, having had many refurbishments over the years - the latest quite sympathetic with the building. Parking is difficult in the area, but if you're prepared to walk after berthing up further away, the effort will be worth it. The beer is... More

Very tasty food. Prices seemed fair to me. Ingredients were fresh. Service was friendly, but a little slow.

Really lovely place to eat out, unusual to find somewhere that does such good food where you'd feel just as welcome if only having a drink. The staff were friendly, the food gastro yet comforting, the beer well looked after. Visited as a couple on a date but will likely go back again with toddler, noticed there are several high... More

We went here for Sunday lunch last week and had a great time. The roasts are incredible and so were the desserts - I can highly recommend the chocolate brownie with salted caramel sauce and ice cream, yum! We were well looked after by the staff, who joined in with jokes and were very friendly. A lovely pub!

Been going here for ages. Like it, good grub, good ales and good service (to a point) but its seems to all of us its getting more expensive and therefore less value. It has found its self the centre of attraction of the Bath pubs and has started taking advantage. well, not for this chap anymore, see ya!

On my first night in town, I chose Marlborough Tavern. What a delight! What a treat! I ordered the Panko Crusted Duck Egg with Asparagus. It was perfect. A glass of white wine and English Chips. I was set and content. The atmosphere is great for a pub, the location quiet and away from tourism but still in town and... More

This was the third stop on my pub crawl with my cousin and whilst the dining area inside is quite formal, outside is a great spot for a drink and watch the World go by.

I visited Bath for my Birthday in April and booked the restaurant off the back of trip advisor reviews. From the outside I wasn't sure what to expect but once we got in I loved the gastro pub atmosphere. The menu is fantastic, pub classics with a modern twist. I live in London and I'm surrounded by countless eateries but... More

Description
Situated around the corner from The Royal Crescent, The Marlborough Tavern combines the atmosphere of a local pub with the quality of a top restaurant. Two AA rosettes, a horde of local & national awards plus inclusions in The Michelin Guide and Good Food Guide bear testimony to their consistent delivery of high quality cooking. They have a clear approach to food find the best and freshest ingredients and to create great tasting, essentially simple dishes where the quality of the produce speaks for itself. Married to that is a passion for inventiveness that sees the menu constantly changing. Food is essentially though not slavishly English in character and takes advantage of locally sourced produce wherever possible. The lunchtime menu features a range of lighter dishes and sharing plates plus some traditional pub classics - and the Sunday roasts are legendary. Their food reputation is matched by their service always friendly and attentive without being intrusive. They have an extensive wine list and selection of local ales, and they can mix a mean cocktail too. Outside they boast what is arguably Baths finest pub garden; a walled courtyard space, its perfect for summertime lunching and drinking.
