Limited menu but more upmarket than your average pub. The prices are relative to the style and the location.

Good service and food well presented. Menu gives good but not too large choices for all courses at reasonable prices. Our party of 5 adults and one child enjoyed our visit and would definitely return.Would recommend the pan fried stone bass, beer battered ling and spiced chickpea burger.

We were staying nearby and were recommended this restaurant by our hotel. It was worth the steep climb up Marlborough St.

I came here with a friend and loved the food - wonderful gastro-pub with informal atmosphere but excellent food. Service was excellent and tables were all busy. Always a good sign!

First time for me and second time for wife . Meals are really properly prepared and the quality is far above than average. Especially our favorite is fish dishes.

I would go here again just for the mushy peas. They were outstanding! The whole family didn't think we would like them but they are fabulous at this restaurant. We couldn't find them this good anywhere else. The main meals were good as well and the service was friendly.

A gastropub that still manages to feel like a pub - always convivial. Staff unfailingly courteous and attentive. Current menu is excellent and my gluten-free companion was well-catered for. Good for morning coffee and croissants too. Dogs welcome and looked after. My only slight grumble is that the wine-list could do with a refresh, but that's only because I've worked... More

Been coming here for a long time, and this place is consistently excellent. Staff are well trained, attentive and knowledgeable. A good variety of Ales combined with an interesting wine list. Food is great quality, and always seems full of flavour. The atmosphere is relaxed, and everything works really well... so don`t change a thing. Booking is essential, especially at... More

Description
Situated around the corner from The Royal Crescent, The Marlborough Tavern combines the atmosphere of a local pub with the quality of a top restaurant. Two AA rosettes, a horde of local & national awards plus inclusions in The Michelin Guide and Good Food Guide bear testimony to their consistent delivery of high quality cooking. They have a clear approach to food find the best and freshest ingredients and to create great tasting, essentially simple dishes where the quality of the produce speaks for itself. Married to that is a passion for inventiveness that sees the menu constantly changing. Food is essentially though not slavishly English in character and takes advantage of locally sourced produce wherever possible. The lunchtime menu features a range of lighter dishes and sharing plates plus some traditional pub classics - and the Sunday roasts are legendary. Their food reputation is matched by their service always friendly and attentive without being intrusive. They have an extensive wine list and selection of local ales, and they can mix a mean cocktail too. Outside they boast what is arguably Baths finest pub garden; a walled courtyard space, its perfect for summertime lunching and drinking.
