The Marlbrough Tavern is well worth a visit, good food, good service but the menu is somewhat limited.

We loved the ambience and the food was excellent gastropub style. All nicely presented and very tasty. Starters: salad of duck breast and salmon. Mains: trio of beef, Ballantine of chicken and battered Ling (fish and chips). Dessert: pecan cake, orange posset. Service was ok without being memorable. Overall, at 50 a head with drinks it was a bit pricey... More

We visited for a friends birthday, 6 of us for a lazy Saturday lunch. Really nice pub, great location near the crescent and what looked like a lovely outdoor seating area. I thought the food was excellent, beautifully presented, tasty and just the right variation and length of menu. Wine list the same, lots of choice but not overwhelming. It... More

A mixture of pub food and more refined dining means it has a wide appeal and the prices are very reasonable. I had the stonebass and my friend had the fish and chips. Both were excellent and service faultless. Ive not been before and would certainly go again. It was a bit noisy with families in so not for romantic... More

We arrived at 4:30pm and tried to get a table, they stop serving lunch from 4-6pm. We decided to grab a table and have a few beers and wait til the kitchen opened again @6. So glad we did, the food was exceptional. The chicken was moist and flavoursome, the veg a little al dente but we enjoy it this... More

We visited Bath this weekend and went to the Marlborough Arms on Saturday on the advice of the concierge at the Royal Crescent Hotel - and we weren't disappointed! The food was top quality and the wine was excellent and fairly priced. We enjoyed it so much we cancelled our Sunday reservation elsewhere and went back - the Sunday roast... More

We had a really nice lunch on Saturday. We went to Bath with our dog and then could not find anywhere to eat as most places don't allow dogs. Its location is just great, we had to walk by the Crescent to get there and it wasn't as busy as some of the places in the center of town. I... More

We had a really lovely experience, I had Stone Bass which was cooked to perfection with capers and Samphire and a delicious lemony sauce. The trio of Beef was melt in the mouth, fillet, shin and oxtail so delicious with the horseradish mash and caramelised baby turnips. Lovely chilled out friendly atmosphere, the staff were superb. Well recommended. :D

Description
Situated around the corner from The Royal Crescent, The Marlborough Tavern combines the atmosphere of a local pub with the quality of a top restaurant. Two AA rosettes, a horde of local & national awards plus inclusions in The Michelin Guide and Good Food Guide bear testimony to their consistent delivery of high quality cooking. They have a clear approach to food find the best and freshest ingredients and to create great tasting, essentially simple dishes where the quality of the produce speaks for itself. Married to that is a passion for inventiveness that sees the menu constantly changing. Food is essentially though not slavishly English in character and takes advantage of locally sourced produce wherever possible. The lunchtime menu features a range of lighter dishes and sharing plates plus some traditional pub classics - and the Sunday roasts are legendary. Their food reputation is matched by their service always friendly and attentive without being intrusive. They have an extensive wine list and selection of local ales, and they can mix a mean cocktail too. Outside they boast what is arguably Baths finest pub garden; a walled courtyard space, its perfect for summertime lunching and drinking.
