4 of us went for Sunday lunch, excellent quality, friendly staff, good drink selection. We had starters and main course - all v well presented and delicious. The roast was particularly good, the chicken roast even came with bread sauce. Will definitely bring going back.

This pub is local to where we stay so its good to get back every now and then. Cold winters day with teh wife for lunch. Mulled wine went down very well and the menu is fairly succinct but tasty. Tables are a bit small. We had a table of two against the wall where you were a little cramped... More

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch at the Marlborough in December. The food was amazing. One of the best Sunday lunches I have had. The staff were lovely and the choice of Ale fantastic. Great vibe and decoration. Perfect really. Highly recommend.

This was my first visit, and will certainly not be the last. Friendly staff, welcoming ambience, and superb food. The intensity of the flavours in each item of the out of the ordinary menu was amazing. A thoroughly enjoyable experience!

I had booked a table here for lunch to catch up with my son who is studying at the university, unfortunately because the Christmas Markets were on we got caught up in terrible traffic on our way and were running very late. I telephoned the Marlboough Tavern to explain and they were helpful and friendly and said they would hold... More

We have eaten at the Tavern a few times as a couple and with our adult children. We all rate it very highly for food, service and ambience. Our Sunday lunch was lovely. Our only disappointment was that we were all much too full for dessert.

The service was very good.. The food was not particularly so and that was a real shame considering the reputation of the restaurant. I love Christmas lunch and yet if rushed or done on mass production can lack in taste and this did lack in taste. Also we had booked Christmas lunch but got no crackers..! Cmon..it's Christmas! Description
Situated around the corner from The Royal Crescent, The Marlborough Tavern combines the atmosphere of a local pub with the quality of a top restaurant. Two AA rosettes, a horde of local & national awards plus inclusions in The Michelin Guide and Good Food Guide bear testimony to their consistent delivery of high quality cooking. They have a clear approach to food find the best and freshest ingredients and to create great tasting, essentially simple dishes where the quality of the produce speaks for itself. Married to that is a passion for inventiveness that sees the menu constantly changing. Food is essentially though not slavishly English in character and takes advantage of locally sourced produce wherever possible. The lunchtime menu features a range of lighter dishes and sharing plates plus some traditional pub classics - and the Sunday roasts are legendary. Their food reputation is matched by their service always friendly and attentive without being intrusive. They have an extensive wine list and selection of local ales, and they can mix a mean cocktail too. Outside they boast what is arguably Baths finest pub garden; a walled courtyard space, its perfect for summertime lunching and drinking.
