Very pleased with our afternoon tea. It was a good selection and was very filling. The building is lovely with great decor. We went back again later in the evening for cocktails and found it's a lovely venue for casual drinks as much as it was for our afternoon tea.

We had a lovely evening celebrating our wedding anniversary. On arrival we were taken up to the Crystal Room. Selected our starters and main courses and wine and decided on an aperitif to begin. We were brought a butternut squash soup in a demi tasse with homemade bread compliments of the chef...delicious. Starters and mains were amazing full of flavour... More

Food was perfect, had the vegetarian option, it was great! So often an after thought but there was love in the gnocchi and delightfully simple flavours. Rene and Gwen were great hosts. We'll definitely be back.

In my exterience this Hotel has always been one of the more up to date places to go for a great dining experience. A recent visit has confirmed that opinion. The bar starts you off on a journey that is bright and dark at the same time, a place with corners for couples and space for groups. The dining areas... More

I apologise in advance for this hatchet job but this strange, surprisingly bad and expensive meal needs to be called out. I haven't eaten nouvelle cuisine - laughably tiny portions painstakingly cooked in different ways then artfully arranged on silly plates - for at least a decade, probably longer. It seemed unlikely it would return from the dead in Shrewsbury.... More

Amazing warm and welcoming from the moment we stepped through the door especially the bearded barman and maitre de Igor who really looked after us. The menu is modern and interesting and a lot more adventurous than others in the area and the early bird menu at 25.00 for three courses is fantastic fresh ingredients well thought out flavours and... I have eaten here before but I have to admit that it was a very long time ago and I can't remember a thing about the meal. I was looking forward to seeing and tasting this time around. The service was good, and the menu seemed to be different than you average in Shrewsbury. I order 2 starters since I... More
