Whilst staying in our caravan locally, decided to take friends to the Battlefield 1403 exhibition and take lunch at Sparrows. We hadn’t booked but were found a table after a few minutes wait which we used to look round the well stocked deli situated next...More

Lovely food - deli platter was a lovely selection for a hot day eaten in the sunshine. Will be back for beautiful cakes another time!

I enjoyed a lovely Sunday meal with friends after a social dog walk around Battelfield. We just managed to catch the breakfast menu before the lunchtime changeover. I had smoked salmon with scrambled eggs and two slices of granary toast and butter (a huge portion)....More

The restaurant was very busy midweek lunchtime. We both chose the beef pie. Initial problem: neither of our portions had been cooked properly and the meat in both was still cold. The staff handled the problem well and served new portions of pie, properly cooked...More

I have been a few times to this cafe and this week have been fortunate to go twice in a week. I shop in the farm shop first and then we treat ourselves in the cafe. There is a wide range of drinks and lots...More

The breakfasts are large, varied and well cooked. They use local sources for the ingredients, which is good and ethical. Only downside as a result is that it gets quite busy, so the food is slower at peak times. Get there early and you’ll be...More

Recommended for lunch. It was very busy. Staff not at all helpful. Felt rushed for ordering and vacating the table after eating. Food was dry and overcooked. No follow up with staff needed to walk downstairs for extra's. Won't rush to go back.More

Arriving a few minutes after opening we ordered breakfasts. The food was served quite quickly. The food however looked dry and over cooked . The sausage was rather dark . The bacon hard and rather tough to chew. Fried egg and beans however were fine....More

Stopped in for lunch with my parents and my baby. Staff were really friendly and helpful, and really on the ball with baby-friendly stuff. I was offered a high chair as soon as we arrived, and our waitress even offered to wash up the baby's...More

Description
OUR CAFÉ The name Sparrow, while no longer the family surname, remains an important link to the past generations who worked hard to create the Albrighton Estate. The café is therefore named in their memory. Meals, snacks and cakes are freshly prepared to order in our kitchen using ingredients from the shop and other local sources. Morning, lunch and afternoon menus give a variety of choice. There is also a children’s menu, again made in our kitchen using local ingredients. Sparrow’s Cafe introduces a new menu at different times of the year to utilise seasonal produce but the firm favourites such as Battlefield Beef and Shropshire Ale Pie, are always available! These changes in menu are also reflected in the range of ready meals prepared for sale in the shop. Most of our seating area is easily accessible by wheelchair but we suggest you call us to book a table should you require one on the ground floor. Otherwise there is no need to book unless your party is of more than six people.
