Description: With a sunny light-filled dining room and two AA Rosettes, Chez Maw...
With a sunny light-filled dining room and two AA Rosettes, Chez Maw restaurant in Shropshire is guaranteed to impress even the most fanatical foodies. Located in Ironbridge near Telford, Chez Maw enjoys picturesque views looking out over the parklands, gardens and the River Severn - ideal for post-dining strolls - and the understated dining room has been recently refurbished in a chic palette of vanilla and blonde wood. The restaurant has a brilliant modern British menu, and we love the pressed Wenlock Edge ham hock and parsley terrine with red cabbage and apple puree; the fillet of Welsh Black beef cooked in a shallot marinade served with potato fondant, buttered spinach and a poached egg; and the mocha panna cotta.

Looking for somewhere special to dine out on a Monday evening in February, I decided to try Chez Maw, having visited there a couple of times in the past. What a wonderful experience, there really wasn't anything to fault. The food, service, atmosphere, we're all First class. The restaurant was quite busy, not surprising really, given the standards achieved.

This is the second time I've been here with friends! And it was the same time round last Christmas, think this is becoming a annual Christmas dinner thing with friends now!! I decided just before I got there that I was going to try 2 starters, 1 main, 2 desserts😊 as I got there waiting for friends it looked like... More

The restaurant is nicely situated looking out over garden area, the menu is extensive and all looked delicious, I had the soup to start, followed by the pulled lamb which again was extremely good, value for four of us was good, would recommend to anyone for a nice quiet meal

Great taste combinations and menu. Good prices and service. Would have liked more wine choice. He had the steak perfectly cooked to taste and I had lamb with beetroot, etc which was wonderful apart from being slightly over seasoned. Would recommend apart from this

We enjoyed a fabulous evening meal at Chez Maw whist staying at the hotel. After a warm welcome, we perused the varied menu and wine list in the bar before being seated. The surroundings are clean, fresh and modern, but balanced with many original features of this historical house. Salmon croquettes twice and goats cheese to start, followed by steak,... More

This restaurant is very good and belies the fact that it is in a three star hotel. The food is beautifully presented as well as being delicious. The vegetarian dishes too are imaginative and attractive. The desserts are indulgent and again attractively presented. The service is very good and all the waiters are friendly without being too formal. I have... More

I was one of the only people in the restaurant on a Sunday evening , nut the meal & service were absolutely amazing !! I decided o visit Chez Maw instead of The Raven (who only offered a Sunday roast menu) & I have to say I was delighted with the decision .. will definitely go again .

Decided to give it a try for my 50th, what a pleasant surprise. Warm welcome on the door, love the choice of ordering your food in the bar and then called into the dining area when starters are ready. Had the pork in soy for starters and that was fabulous, and decided to have the special (haddock). New waitress served... More

Delightful surprise to find this restaurant in our hotel (Best Western) as this is a destination venue in its own right! We were seated in the bar whilst our starters were prepared and then moved to the restaurant when the food was ready. My leek and potato soup was flavoursome and just right!. My wife pork belly (chinese style) melted... More

We ate here with 2 friends and the food and service was excellent. There is a very good selection on the menu and something for all tastes. At under £200, including drinks, we thought it very good value for money
