Tucked away in quiet Kelham Island this is a lovely traditional English pub selling cask conditioned real ale via 12 beer engines with a good range of snacks. I mention the snacks as I could not possibly recommend the food, enough said The beer was varied but didn't not rate their own Kelham Island beer which was by far the... More

Beer - fantastic. Beer garden - really lovely and full of flowers, art work and other curiosities. Food - truly horrible, although very affordable at about £5 per meal! One very nice woman seemed to be running the entire kitchen herself, and was perhaps struggling. Strangely hard and tough potato wedges that left a puddle of oil behind them. Toad... More

Having parked in the pub's car park, we walked round the front of the pub and got shouted at by a guy from the car park entrance telling us the car park was for the pub or museum. I let him know we were going in the pub, but it was pretty embarrassing to be shouted at in the street!... More

We had a quick lunch here and it was very good. Pleasant service and quite inexpensive for the city. My husband always enjoys beer and said the selection is good and well kept. It's a smallish pub but has a decent size old fashioned lounge as well as the typical bar area with seating. Food was ordered at the bar... More

Famous- rightly - for range of beers. Visited 3 times in last week: there are so many pumps on bar it is impossible for staff to deliver your drink without wrapping their hands around the top of the glass. On not one of my visits has the person serving me actually spoken to me - but kept up a chat... More

I hadn't been to the Fat Cat for over 15 years, but happened to go to meet beer enthusiast friends who were visiting it from Manchester and Canada. Despite many changes to the area around it, It hasn't lost any of its charm of yesteryear. Great selection beer, lager and cidars, (cellar temp was a bit warm on the hottest day... More

Went here on Sunday for lunch with a friend. We both had ploughmans. It was ok but not the best one I had ever had. We were both in agreement that there was too much cheese and not enough crackers. The salad was a bit pathetic too. I'm not sure how so many people think that by throwing a bit... More

Wonderful pub with lovely beer, food, staff and prices. What more is there to say! Would be nice to see the return of a cat on the premises.

This is probably the most famous pub in Sheffield for real ale. Set in the Kelham Island area it's a must visit for real ale enthusiasts The pub is small and the bar even smaller as only two people can stand side by side in the Tap Room Food here is good but not pretentious.
