ok

Tried the Sunday lunch. Thought it was ok, nothing special but perfectly acceptable for the £7.95 price. We added a soup starter for £2.95 which was tasty enough but thought it should have come with a bit of bread which it didn't. Choice of 3 meats, roast potatoes and Yorkshire pud with 4 veg... read more

Had really looked forward to lunch at the Beauchief with a friend. When we arrived the place was deserted...Eventually a pleasant enough girl arrived and we asked for the menu which was on one sheet and was only a few sandwiches and wraps except they had no wraps!!! We asked for soup which arrived with two small triangles of dry... More

We dined here with a livingsocial voucher for steak and chips. The dining room was freezing cold - despite telling the staff, it remained this way throughout our extremely long and drawn out meal. We ordered starters - ham hock terrine and garlic and chilli prawns. it took over 40 minutes for them to arrived, despite there only being a... More

For the price of £7.95 you will receive better food at the local Toby Carvery. The Yorkshire Puddings were not homemade, the meats were overcooked and suffered from being under the heat lamp for too long. The vegetables were reasonably tasty. We were offered an additional dessert course, for an additional cost, which was a arranged on small table containing... More

This is a favourite place for our family celebrations and the staff and surrounds are great. Meat eaters usually come away very satisfied, BUT I am increasingly disappointed. This time we were put in the bar and given a one page menu (we booked the restaurant a week ago). I could only have the vegetable risotto of the day, pea,... More

This is a good hotel with an excellent car park and a very good reputation. Since Jack Baker has taken it over, he has worked very hard to rebuild its reputation and to satisfy his customers. It is becoming very popular and booking is usually advised. It is a favourite spot for weddings, funerals and general get-togethers. The food is... More

After reading reviews on here and a family recommendation, we tried the Sunday carvery here. As it was a sunny afternoon we decided to eat outside in the garden. We bought our drinks, paid at the bar and went upstairs to get our meal. After waiting around for someone to get the chef to slice the meat, we both chose... More

The lunch here is a carvery. Choice of three meats , gammon, turkey and beef. All very well cooked. The food all seems to be freshly prepared and good quality. A nice touch is that you can fill a gravy boat and take it to your table. There was just one soup starter and three or 4 desserts. The desserts were... More

Nice meal but not much of it and not value for money. Starters were quite good and desserts were good just main course left a lot to be desired
