This is another one of Readings little gems. A superb place to visit. The best pies I've ever eaten. Service is great and a really friendly place. Will visit time and time again

Went in around 5:30pm. The place was empty. Sat down and order a real ale steak and kidney pie with a side salad. Was expecting a freshly baked pie. Food arrived some 5/10 mins later microwaved pie dry and to be honest flavour less. The beer was un drinkable.

The place is basic so if your looking for... More

Old fashioned, cafe style dining. Pies come with new potatoes and gravy. Well made, lots if meat. We had steak and ale and 5 nations. Both highly recommended. Beer was a let down. Very young.

The pies are wonderful and there is a huge choice. Good wholesome comfort food. The downside of this place is that they really pack the diners in and it can feel very very claustrophobic

Stopped by for a quick lunch, very friendly staff and then food was nice and the portions were huge for the price. Not fancy but good old fashioned grub, which was just what we were looking for.

I have been here a couple of times and it's always been great! The pies are great and cheap. Whenever any of my friends or family come to visit UK I take them here!

The place to go in Reading for pie! Can also recommend the cauliflower cheese as a side order and chocolate cake for pudding!

The pies are large however do not come with anything else included, very nice although possibly a little overpriced. Very welcoming service. Highly recommended!

This is a gem of a place. The welcome is always warm and as you walk past the deli counter, you gain an idea of the fabulous farm-owned food you are about to eat. The pies are simply delicious and the roast dinners are plentiful, cooked to perfection and melt in the mouth. My only criticism is I always struggle... More
