Today I was quite easily persuaded to go to our favourite local, The Bladebone, for Sunday lunch. I had the goats cheese starter which was great and although I was going to go for the roast pork there was one cote de bouef going which is for two. I couldnt resist the silent (mostly) pleading in my foodie wifes eyes... More

Firstly I must say that the Bladebone recently sweetly fitted in my son and daughter in law at the last minute when they left their baby daughter with us for the first time ever. They hadn't thought to book, indeed their original idea was to sit in my garden with a takeaway in case Jennifer cried! Ritchie, the owner/chef of... More

This is the fourth time we've been to the Bladebone and whilst the food was great again the service seemed to be lacking. Waited ages to place the order then waited nearly 40 mins for a starter which was just bread and nobody bothered to check if we wanted another drink or apologised for the delay. Food is obviously freshly... More

We live quiet close to the Bladebone and have been there a couple of times a few years ago for drinks and food. It was nothing special as a gastro pub back then, but what a transformation the new owners have made. Its is a fantastic gastro pub now with a superb staff and menu. It still has local Berkshire... Whilst I am saddened to see the decline in traditional country pubs a very few are being replaced by gastro pubs rather than restaurants (or simply closed). The Bladebone has maintained a decent bar and excellent West Berks ales. The restaurant is first class. Excellently cooked food and a very good wine list. Whilst it isn't cheap the quality of... Brilliant family friendly restaurant with delicious food. The herbs are grown in the garden so everything is fresh. Would recommend to everyone.

As a family we tried The Bladebone Inn as caters for a wedding next year. A beautiful and traditional Inn. A warm welcome from the staff, a menu that catered for all and food that was superb. The Inn was quirky and pleasing. A very pleasant experience for all.
