Travelled from the West country and needed a pint before on ward journey. They sell London Pride and i had not had one for a very long time. Tasted good. Very helpful staff and food looked good. Only down side was that toilets were upstairs.

Was catching a train, so grabbed breakfast in the Three Guineas, which occupies the former entry hall of the station. Expected it to be buzzing with travellers, but it seemed empty, maybe because it was a Saturday (29 Feb 2020). A solemn young lady showed...me to a dining area on one side. Had a 4-person booth to myself, with attractive bus-style. maroon-vinyl seats and a marble-effect table top. The decor is railway themed but not overdone: all very stylish, especially the black-and-white-tiled floor. Music playing on the speakers suited my taste--Bob Dylan, and suchlike. So this is a pleasant place to eat or drink before a journey, much preferable to the platform buffets. Though not a vegan, I ordered the vegan breakfast, because it looked interesting. Plus an added fried egg, as eggs boost me. With a pot of tea, came to about £13.50. The vegan breakfast comprised a miniature saucepan of baked beans; a dollop of leafy spinach; half a tomato; a hash brown; a veggie sausage; a pile of scrambled tofu; and sourdough-bread toast (I asked not to have the toast). Highlight for me was the veggie sausage: unlike others I've had, it was more compact and with a surprisingly intense flavour. Also the spinach, which was cooked just right--not mashed or too shrivelled. Unfortunately, I disliked the scrambled tofu, something I've not tried before--too vinegary and sour for my taste. Didn't matter because I also had that fried egg. The egg was good quality but had been overcooked, so it was hard. The tea came in an attractive teapot; however, it tasted anaemic and slightly stewed to me. Stir as I might, I could not make it pleasant. Will certainly be back to the Three Guineas, though. Menu is interesting, ambience relaxing. Overall, enjoyed my visit. This COVID-19 lockdown must be horrific for the business and its staff. I wish them all well in trying to survive the nightmare and live to fight another day.More
Had to have a drink as we missed the train, lovely convenient pub on the station, with outdoor seating.
I hadn’t been here before up until yesterday with a few friends last night to watch the rugby, and it was a great atmosphere, lovely food and wide selection of drinks. The staff were wonderful especially the edgy looking girl with piercings (didn’t get her...name!!), She helped me with my queries, and generally a very welcoming young lady and all over had great customer service. Food was very yummy! Had a good night, Thankyou 🥂More
The staff can’t tell the difference between drunk and sobre nor can the shift supervisor despite the fact me telling them their own licensing laws and policy. Team members easily influenced by another team member who was quite clearly not the manager on shift the...supervisor, she was very argumentative and refused to let the other team members speak for themselves Despite a team member telling me she ‘will be with me in a sec’ . The lady refused to get the manager on shift who was apparently unavailable or dealing with another function. I did not feel listened to or understood and nor was i ‘drunk’ . Team members ignored me, very argumentative and rude. The shift supervisor was unable to give me a direct answer besides stuttering when i explained to him his own team members responsibilities and rights. All in all dreadful customer service by team members and so called management, was told to go elsewhere which is not the attitude to have when trying to run a business, the shift supervisor had no clue what he was talking about seemed more happy to follow/make his own judgement rather than lead the team- absolutely no backbone or knowledge of licensing policies when questioned, Security was called before the manager which in my opinion shows the faith the team have in their team leader-someone one who has no clue by the way, i was then told the manager was not coming by the security guard, When asked why i was simply told the supervisor was not coming despite numerous attempts again by someone who is not qualified tp run a shift because he was busy with another function if so the pub needs to look at the rotas and either put on more team members or another manager qualified unless their budgets can’t afford it. The pub was quiet with 4 members of team on so no reason to be rude or argumentative nor ‘too busy’ to cope with the small amount of customers. Appalled by the way the shift supervisor allowed the team member to speak to me or shall i say shout at me. Accused of being aggressive when at one point i wasn’t speaking to her and when i did get a chance to speak to the manager i was polite and spoke clearly a bit loud however the music was also loud and i had a disrespectful team member shouting at me whilst refusing to let me speak to the shift supervisor without having a go at me by that i mean would not walk away from the situation nor was she asked to so the manager and i could have a chat in private which would’ve been the proper way to ‘manage’ a situation. Will not be returning unless their are corrective actions moving forward!More
Fantastic pub with staff willing to go above and beyond. We ate here today, I didn’t fancy anything off the menu so we asked if they would cook poached egg on toast and they were more than willing and it was lovely. My partner ate...the squid and loved it. Staff were very friendly and kind. Everyone was smiling and polite and the place just had a lovely feel about it. We also had our 7 week old baby with us and I breastfed freely. I loved the fact the baby change was nice and warm as for once my daughter didn’t cry during a nappy change!More
Went here for a work night out in Dec - we were at the Cellar Bar and it was very well decorated. Really enjoyed it. Also went here last week (Jan 2020) for breakfast and really good veggie options. service was quick and food was...pretty good :)More
This place is nice n cosy, right at the Station in Reading, a good past time while waiting for Train. Nice ambience with wide varieties of Drink an excellent menu course offering Veggies n Vegan dishes.
Very conveniently located next to the station entrance. service was good, staff friendly and welcoming, prices ok.
I popped into the pub for a quick bite to eat between trains and was pleasantly surprised. The food was brought out quickly which is what you want when you’re next to the station. It was delicious and full of flavour. Plenty of veggie/vegan options...(I’m neither but everything I ordered was veggie/vegan). The venue itself is not exactly cosy pub but the staff were friendly and helpful. I’d say a great place to stop for some food if you’re waiting for a train.More
