Had 2 meals in December 2018 was was not at all happy I was invited by the new tenants to try out there new menu and service in march Can now say much improved food hot service good overall much better than in December.

Called in after new owners have taken on the pub. We both had a curry, I must say it was one of the best pub curries I have had. Freshly made, well presented & tasty.

Didn’t pre book but friendly staff offered us a choice of tables. Lovely atmosphere and no one seemed to mind my over excited grandson bursting in and shouting looking for a table suitable for a 2 year old. Food was great and catered for vegetarians....More

i had beef and guiness pie which was very tasty and homemade chips,portions look small but it is very filling good value for money,friendly and helpful staff.will go back again..the pub was busy alot of people eating,didint hear any complaints..

I visited the Volunteer with my daugehter and two young grandchildren for Sunday lunch on Christmas Eve. The meals were excellent and the staff were helpful and welcoming.
