Refreshing Thai cuisine established in an dwelling with history dating from 1637. Staff very welcoming and service very efficient. Very busy establishment, with several small dining areas, one downstairs and two upstairs, food is brought up from the kitchen by a "dum waiter".

Efficient at seating us and taking our order. Food was hot and so tasty! The only downside was that my dish stated it was mild heat (and I am quite good with spice) yet it was ridiculously spicy which put a slight dampener on it as I struggled to eat it though the flavour was amazing. We would definitely return.

This is a lovely restaurant set in a quaint building back from the hustle and bustle of the high street. The food is delicious and is served quickly and by friendly staff. The selection of traditional teas served is impressive, as is the extensive menu.

Very central and easy to find, a charming restaurant with good service and friendly helpful staff. Prices are a little on the high side - but this is Oxford afterall. The food is well cooked with a good variety of choices - all authentically Thai. 2 small niggles however - the papaya salad was very disappointing and mild, and more... More

Pleasant place. Was busy for lunch. Well situated off High Street. Old charming building. Need to find the alley entrance. Menus is extensive with all your Thai favorites. Spice level just perfect but needed the large beer to make it through the meal. Calamari starter suggested- cooked just right. Large Asian clientele usually bodes well.

My boyfriend and I had a lovely meal at this restaurant at the end of a very warm and busy day in Oxford. The building is beautiful and the atmosphere is peaceful, calm and friendly. We were very impressed, our meals were delicious and we would like to return here again. The restaurant is also ideally located for shopping and... More

The Chang Mai is a small but perfectly formed hidden Oxford gem, tucked away down a passage off High Street. Located in an antique, timber beamed building, the Chang Mai is a pleasure from the moment you walk in. Unpretentious and tranquil, you can sit downstairs or upstairs. The menu is extensive and the food is just delicious - the... More

Although this isn't the best restaurant I have eaten at it is the best thai for a long time outside the Far East. Only trouble is it is hot with little ventilation and found it a tad oppressive whilst eating

We stumbled on this oasis of calm on a busy Saturday lunchtime. The restaurant is up some rickety looking stairs, but well worth the climb. We wanted a dry white wine and was a little disappointed in the options available by the glass, the closest option wasn't that dry. We decided on the assorted starter to be shared. All very... More

We were excited to eat Thai here in the UK but it wasn't nearly as good as in New York. Since it,s located in an historic building the ambience is nice. Service was good. I had Pad Thai and it was so mild it almost tasted like Italian spaghetti. My daughter had cho fun pork and it too was just... More
