Brooke being a baby by a stream ?... But how relevant for the restaurant, which is a training restaurant in the culinary school at Oxford Brooke's University. The ingredients were young and fresh; the service unassuming, warm and flowing with generosity. A truly pleasant experience. We had the two course set lunch. Apple and celery soup followed by chicken breast... More

We are regular visitors to Brookes for lunch but also for their special themed evenings. It is really easy to book and their emails for forthcoming events are very good. This is a training centre for the hospitality trade and students are training for positions in top London & international restaurants. The standard of food is really outstanding and we... More

My three course meal was excellent! The smoked duck, grilled sea bass fillet and egg custard tart were all so delicious! The presentation was very appealing! Staff were friendly and attentive! The price was reasonable! Don't forget to get a 20 percent discount if you are Brookes students or staff! Nothing to complain about really.

The welcome into the restaurant was very warm and friendly, all the staff had great smiles, there was a positive ambience within the restaurant. To me and my partner had the Duck to start with, we both felt that the dish was under-seasoned, very small portion and the watercress pure was rather tasteless. Then for main we had the Pork... Our party of three attended my daughter's final year restaurant service and was lucky enough to have had a fantastic "Artisan Delight" themed evening, which was a "fusion of middle eastern and western signatures". From the ease booking the event online to the follow up dietary requirements email, we felt that we were off to a well known and high... More

The friendly staff upon arrival warmly welcomed us, giving us a good first impression of the restaurant and staff. There were a variety of dishes to choose from including meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. We had the duck and asparagus to start followed by the pork belly and cheese turnover, which we would definitely recommend. The desserts were the highlight... More

After guest-lecturing at Brookes, we were lucky enough to be treated to lunch at the excellent restaurant. Staffed by students, it serves delicious and inventive food - I had braised oxcheek which was meltingly tender followed by star anise meringue with chocolate sorbet and ginger cream. Very attentive staff - thoroughly recommended.

Very nice restaurant. We had a very warm welcome and had friendly staff throughout. The food was very seasonal and fresh. It felt light and healthy, perfect for a lunch. We would recommend the pistachio and pear crumble puddings and chicken main course.

We were greeted on arrival and shown to our table. Our waiter offered to take our coats. As we sat down we were offered water and we were told about the blackboard specials. Throughout the service, our waiter was very attentive and kept refilling our drink and checking on our food. Overall food was really nice - better than expected,... More

Upon arrival, it was seconds before our waiter came rushing up to us with a radiant grin, insisting to take our coats. The warm and welcoming spirit was steadfast from there, with beautifully presented dishes that didn't disappoint. The starters in particular were delicately crafted and characterful in taste. Unfortunately for us, and, maybe, fortunately for our brilliant waiter, we... More
