Lovely and warm in the cafe when it was freezing cold outside. Great hot coffee and plenty of cream, jam and butter with the scone, all at a reasonable price.

Cafe Puccino's id run by a bunch of idiots that squeeze there franchisees for every penny they can get, they insist that they use 'recommended' suppliers and for every order placed the head office gets a cut from. The food is frozen crap they do not care about the quality of the food just that they make money on it,... More

I tried Tomato soup, "the soup of the day", and I became fond of it. Hot, tasty, with an inviting smell. Served with some hot baguette and butter. Simply delicious. The premises weren't stylish nor elegant, but warm and home-like. For six months, my Sunday's gift.

Went for lunch on a Sunday and was thoroughly disappointed. Atmosphere was awful with wonky chairs and very canteen like. Ordered food and it came in an instant and the baguette was cold and the panini which was tuna and cheese was half warm so the cheese hasnt melted. Waitress tried to take plate when company was still eating. Baguette... More

We went for a quick lunch. The food was overpriced compared to other places nearby so we opted for a few dips with pitta bread. The dips were obviously not prepared on the premises, although the staff said that they had been... When our food arrived the roasted vegetable dip turned out to have gone off and to be fermenting.... More

This cafe is now Golden Cross but retains the quirky Puccino's decor. Wanted a quick coffee and cake and fancied trying a local outlet rather than a chain. This place looked good and is down in a quiet courtyard. It has lots of little indoor spaces and outdoor tables too. When we entered the cafe it was unclear whether it... More

This is somewhere to go for drinks and drinks only. Nice outside seating area in the Golden Cross courtyard...a rarity in the centre of Oxford! I'd give the drinks three 'dots', the coffee was okay and although the 'homemade' lemonade tasted very much like shop bought lemonade with a squirt of lemon juice it was quite nice. The bonus of... I used to come here with my wife when we visited Oxford until she died recently. Visited again this week. We always looked for somewhere independent that was not a chain. OK, the food is not haute cuisine but we liked it and used to spend a lot of time sitting upstairs especially when Margaret was not well and couldn't... More

This place is dingy and grubby. The tables were left uncleared for quite a while. The coffee wasn't bad, we didn't eat anything. What made the experience really, truly unpleasant was the music. Loud house music. No one in the place looked like they were particularly interested in dancing. No one looked like they had just taken some Es. But... More

Have visited 4 times for lunch. Food always good, the Barcelona Pannini is great but I must be more adventurous!! Service good and with a smile. Not sure about the silly comments written on the walls though, I think someone was trying to be funny but not really succeeding.
