Beer acceptable just, price better than it was, food looked OK but didn't partake, Decoration very poor and tired, so many trip points everywhere accidents will happen, bar understaffed even when quiet, needs alot of work to make acceptable, toilets no towels to dry hands...despite covid signs, infuses dry, been there forever. But please use so can make money and stay open so improveMore

Went there with my girlfriend who is a celiac and ordered a meal (that contained meat) which was specified as gluten free on the menu, and which the staff confirmed was gluten free. A few hours after we came back, she was violently ill. It...is hard to know if this was due to food poisoning from the pork or containing gluten. Additionally, when we went to order there was one person in front of us, yet it somehow took nearly 10 minutes of waiting due to slow staff. To finish on a positive note, the drinks were good and the staff were generally friendly, as well as it being a nice location by the river.More

Attended for a group event. Vegan chilli was nasty - tasted like a can of mixed beans just mixed with a lot of chilli sauce. No vegetables in it, no proper flavour, just heat (and too much heat - I love hot chilli, but with...a proper flavour, not just burn your mouth off, and heard several others complain it was too hot). Salad was overdressed (and better to leave the dressing off and let people add their own). Low quality burger buns rather than decent bread to go with it. Maybe it's better for individual diners and meat eaters - but it's not hard to make a large batch of decent vegan chilli, just use proper spices, add lots of vegetables, and give it a taste before serving.More

It was 11.15 am, I asked if they were open. They weren’t - apparently they open at 12.00. Landlord was stupidly irritable because I went into their pub through their open front door, having opened their perimeter gate (which was closed) to ask to buy...a pint. Clearly got out of bed on the wrong side this morning & absolutely not a good way to treat a customer who has visited on many occasions. Simple answer: spend my money else where! As an aside, it’s a spit and sawdust, rather grubby joint that serves an ok pint by the river. I certainly wouldn’t eat here.More

Lovely atmosphere and very welcoming. Enjoyed reasonably priced drinks outside in the lovely spacious garden overlooking the River Thames. Lovely atmosphere Good clientele and lovely spot overlooking the Thames. We were 3-miles away from completing the walk of the Thames between the source in Gloucestershire...and Central London (obviously done in different stages to finish at this location!). We had walked the Kennet and Avon Canal from Bristol ending up in London last year and have clocked up just under 300 miles in aid of Alzheimers and raised just under £5,000 from our walks. The landlord was very welcoming and extremely generous in making a donation. He allowed us to announce to guests what we had been doing and the guests also were very supportive of the cause.More

This place has so much potential, the food is awful and the facilities are grimy. Cutlery filthy, service is a shambles. Bar staff friendly but lack efficiency skills. How I would love to manage this venue! If you want a ping, beautiful location, just don’t...eat the food.More

A lovely Sunny Saturday afternoon, decided to walk to The Isis..... big mistake. Firstly a wedding was on so half the place closed off. There were two portable toilets outside, not very clean and they didn't flush. The sink tap to wash your hands barely...dribbled. Possibly able to understand this at the end of a busy day but this was at 1pm and the wedding guests were just arriving not leaving!. A round consisting of two pints and an unchilled glass of not that great Sauvigion was just under £20. I did try to ring to check if there had been a mistake when I realised but they have a phone but don't answer it. Had high hopes this pub had pulled it's socks up after a few years of dreadful hygiene inspections but sadly not. Gave two stars and not one for the beautiful scenery which of course is not down to the pub but at least they offer benches so you can watch the world go by.More

Beer good, if expensive, but fish and chips (£14.00) very disappointing: rather thin fillet of fish fresh enough, but batter thick, hard and unpleasant. I left all of it. Tiny, dry portion of mushy peas, and the only tartare sauce available was cheap, nasty stuff...in plastic sachets, despite being part of the dish on the menu. My companion was equally unimpressed with her chicken laksa. For their sake, I hope this was an off day, but the first and last time for me.More

At £14 for a main course, £11 for a baked potato it’s not cheap pub grub….but because of the setting and the fact they have to get all their supplies across a field one wouldn’t have minded that if the food had been decent. My...“Laksa“ was lumps of —possibly reconstituted— dry chicken with a claggy sauce with little flavour. My companion had fish and chips which he described as one of the worst meals he’d had in a very long time. Sorry Isis, I’m glad you’re there, but I’ll be sticking to drinks only in future.More

Very long wait - over an hour for expensive and awful food. Go for a drink but get food somewhere else! I don't usually leave negative reviews, but that was quite something

We stopped in for a pint during a walk and ended up staying for most of the afternoon. It's a lovely spot to enjoy the river and watch the world go by. If you're a fan of historical architectural detailing, check out the enormous 17th-century...fireplace inside the pub!More

I'm a long term Oxford resident and I called into the Isis recently after a few years. It's changed somewhat but still as magical as ever. Such a lovely location and the pub itself has a real timeless, Oxford feel about about it. Good beers...on tap and a cosy interior for the Winter months. I'll be calling again soon.More

We chose Isis Farmhouse for our wedding for the atmosphere of the venue and the friendliness of the owner and staff. The staff were super helpful with the preparations and on the day, assisted with deliveries, suggested set up, and even fixed the cupcakes we...ordered from another supplier that arrived slightly squashed! On the day of our wedding, the staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. The only thing we would have changed is to have a sit down 3 course dinner instead of the hog roast but otherwise the customer service, the excellent wine (including professional wine tasting!), and the easy going approach and can do attitude made the preparation much more fun for us! The nicely decorated marquee, the gorgeous surroundings with meadow and river, and the value for such a great venue are unbeatable! Also, the nearby forest and bridge were the perfect scenery for our wedding photos. Would definitely recommend for other couples considering marrying in Oxfordshire.More

Should have turned around when we saw the cobwebs on the light fittings in the main bar. The food was abysmal, over priced and very poor quality. The homemade burger had more onion than meat, and tasted like vinegar. The kids food was no better....The venue both inside and in the garden was clearly not looked after, which is a shame because it has the potential to be beautiful. I would avoid.More

Great rustic bar with friendly staff and a selection of beers - the local IPA was nice. We sat outside in the large garden by the river Thames in the warm weather - it's a perfect location. We ordered a pork pie and Farmhouse salad...to share between us which we were disappointed with - pork pie not particularly tasty and the salad underwhelming. Also we saw some of the utensils were dropped onto the ground and were picked up and placed into the holders for people to use. Very good location and bar, poor food - overall average.More

There isn't a website, just a simple home cooked menu with little change over time. Don't go there in a hurry, go to admire the view.
