A belated valentines for us and a lovely evening at this cosy country Inn. Very friendly greeting on arrival and well looked after with free bar snacks, great service, good food and wine all evening. Settled into a well decorated room with a comfy bed and slept like rocks. Lovely breakfast of home cooked, good quality local produce cheerily delivered.... More

Anyone who may have read my other restaurant reviews will know the one thing that ruins an eating experience for me is rudeness or poor or sloppy service. NOT HERE. The lady with dark hair who served us for lunch is an absolute pro. She knows exactly what to say and when. Offering helpful advice in such a professional cheerful... More

The Cherry Tree is a fabulous little Gastropub not too far from Henley-On-Thames. The place is beautiful and the food is absolutely fantastic. The Venison and wild mushroom Wellington with woodland berry jus, pickled radish and wilted greens is absolutely to die for! Not a huge variety of vegetarian options but what there is - delicious! Don't leave without sampling... More

I came to the Cherry Tree last month with my partner, the pub was very quiet!! We ordered the sharing platter to start and everything was ok, nothing amazing, we then both ordered the wellington, again was just ok.... the staff were friendly and helpful!! The manager could have looked a bit happier towards his customers and maybe changed out... More

We live in Stoke Row and have frequented the Cherry Tree regularly through various management changes. I am very pleased to say that the latest change is definitely for the better. Had a delicious meal with excellent service in a relaxed, cosy atmosphere. Starters of whitebait followed by pork belly, sauteed potatoes and red cabbage went down a treat. Front... More

We make regular summer visits with the friends and the dogs to The Cherry Tree, and love spending time over "pop and crisps" in the garden. We decided on our most recent visit to try the restaurant for a Saturday night dinner. This was the first time we had dined at the CT in a few years and sadly found... More

The B&B rooms were good value for money, well equipped (hairdryer, TV, fan, bath products) but rather hot. No Wi-Fi in the rooms but available in the bar. The pub lunches and dinner was good gastro pub grub. The breakfasts are excellent with good choices (full English, Kedgeree, bacon baps, smoked salmon and scrambled egg). Plenty of tea and coffee... Our B+B host booked an early table for us on a busy Saturday evening. We were served very promptly by helpful and attentive staff. Good and inventive food - pub food with a fine dining twist, not too sure about my berries in jelly being called a 'verraine' ie jelly in glass jar. Just a touch pretentious but tasted good!

A search for dog friendly pubs suggested the Cherry Tree Inn, a lovely Inn with a pleasant garden. Dogs were certainly welcome with plenty of water bowls and dog loving customers. Tempting menu - we chose the chicken roast, beef roast and the burger. Our meals arrived - meat, roast potatoes and red cabbage and we were told to enjoy... More

Description
Idyllically nestled in the Chiltern Hills amongst some of the most beautiful beech woods in England, sits this most pretty and picturesque English country pub with rooms. The Cherry Tree Inn is a 500 year old brick and flint building that was formerly 3 cottages. Now, a thriving, bustling quintessential English country pub and inn, it has had a huge lease of life since its new owners gave it a makeover in February 2012. Whilst keeping its gorgeous traditional interior, with original flagstone floors, heavy beams and low ceilings, they have also brought it right up to the 20th century with innovative design, interiors, colours and overall excellent service. The rooms are set in a lovely barn conversion next to the pub and with its four ensuite AA 4* letting rooms with king size beds and clean, crisp linens, it's perfect for both private or corporate needs. Breakfasts are hearty and guests are assured of a peaceful nights sleep in beautiful surroundings. The food is right up there with some of the best in the area. Modern British classics, meets some favourite European treats and all food is cooked fresh, to order and using only the freshest, where possible local ingredients from both local suppliers and some of the many estates producing some outstanding meats. The wine list is pretty healthy too, with Bury Brothers & Rudd supplying a lot of their wines. Likewise, they have a great selection of champagnes, the beer is very well kept with mainly the local Brakspears on tap and a good selection bottled beers, spirits and liqueurs. Just 6 miles west of glorious Henley on Thames and surrounded by some of the best walking, cycling and riding territory you'll find, it's firmly on the 'Destination Pub' radar, as well as being loved and supported by the local area.
