A group of 9 of us had lunch here and the unanimous verdict was that this pub is excellent in all respects. The food is good, the service prompt, and it is excellent value for money. The staff are efficient and it is clearly a well-run ship.

You will have to go a long way to beat this really genuine pub/inn for the quality of food served. All of the food was at a level you would expect from a top-end restaurant let alone a tucked-away country inn. We were in a group of 10 and everyone's choice of starter/main/desserts were incredible and without exception. Not cheap,... More

Was staying at Crowne Plaza and was so pleased I tried this as it was. Wry much better than the hotel restaurant with some very strange groups in it. Food was great, staff wonderful. Lovely

Having walked from our hotel and hoped the food would be good, were weren't disappointed. Made to feel welcome both nights (had to try it again for our second night), the food was great - I tried the belly pork which is a dish I wouldn't normally choose, but wanted mash and vegs rather than chips. I was very impressed... More

We had our team dinner here and the food was great. Our customer service manager had pre booked it and we had chosen our meals, so the place did get a heads up, but the food was so gorgeous. They didn't have a gluten free roll to accompany my soup, which was disappointing considering they had plenty of warning I... More

We were given a choice of eating in the pub or the restaurant . Whereas the pub had character we chose the restaurant which was also an interesting room appearing to be a converted barn . It's always a little disconcerting eating in a restaurant for the first time and finding ourselves on our own as the other table was... More

Have been several times before and were not disappointed. Food and service was good, plenty of choice but by the time we left around 9pm a few of the "specials" were finished. Only drawback was that the coffee was very weak, you could almost see the bottom of the cup when it was half full! However, we will return as it... More

This is in the tiny village of Church Enstone about 5 miles from Chipping Norton. Parking is limited. We had been recommended to eat here by a local so were expecting great things. We checked it out one lunchtime and just had a drink and sat out in the garden which could really do with more tables and chairs and... More

Told by a local to try this place as it was supposedly good. However, we chose a day unfortunately when the owner was away and standards were woefully low. Service was a bit slow ( we went early so few others there) but the waitress was charming so that sort of made up for it. The food was the problem.... More
