Amazing place

I have had the pleasure to visit this place a couple of time. I just simply love the charm of the place, the simplicity and the taste of the food and the friendly service. Cant"t wait to visit again once I will be in Oxfordshire.

Great country stop off pub, with a good selection of food and drinks. We stayed nearby at Heythrop Park, and can recommend this pub to be worth the travel down the very long drive way to find. Restaurant was quiet and we were seated quickly. Menu was of good choice and we chose from the extensive specials board for our... More

Worth visiting to bang your head on the low ceilings! Young lady behind the bar was very friendly and chatty. Only had the one quick drink and found that they closed at 3 and reopened at 6.Proabably just the quiet winter months openeing hours

There were a group of 6 of us, the food was lovely and there were 6 empty plates at the end! 4 had desserts and 2 shared a cheese platter. They didn't have one of the cheese so talked to us about a replacement rather than not saying anything. Service was good and they were attentive but not to the... More

Popped in just before Christmas to buy lunch for some colleagues. On arrival we were told there would be a 40 minute wait for food, or 20 minutes for sandwiches but we could not order unless a table became available. I asked if we could order and eat at the bar. The barmaid said no, "as we would be clogging... More

We are currently staying in the Crowne Plaza next door. Having found this place on trip advisor we thought we would pop in for dinner. The menu was not to our liking but the waitress kindly offered to modify this which was extremely kind as we don't know the area and it was raining heavily. We finally settled on goats... More

Food variety was good. Cater for different food types, which is often missing at some public inns. Would visit if we are in this area again

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here. We decided on two courses, and to have a pudding, rather than a starter. We both went for the roast rib of beef, which was perfectly cooked, tender, pink, and really tasty, along with Yorkshire puddings, delicious roast potatoes and fresh veg. We throughly enjoyed our meals, but were too full for pudding,... More
