A last minute decision to eat out, a quick call to somewhere we hadn't been before, table booked. 20 mins later we walked in to be met with a warm & cheery welcome; and the high standard was maintained....good wines, excellent food & great service - we shall return v.soon!

I was on a long weekend visit in the Cotswolds with my mother. We actually had two meals at this pub as we did enjoy it. The staff is most friendly and the garden at the back is great for eating out in good weather.

Wonderful variety of starters and mains for lunch and dinner. If the weather is good, do ask to be seated in the rear part of the garden. The service is very friendly and the atmosphere is lovely. We shall definitely be back!

Well worth a visit. Roast beef and roast lamb were excellent. Well presented and cooked to perfection. Nice selection of vegetables, not your normal carrots and broccoli. Staff were welcoming when we arrived and service was efficient. not to quick like they were trying to get rid.

I love finding restaurants that get it right! We were very pleased with our choice to eat here after a long day out. It's a beautiful place to see and sit in. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. The pub and dining areas were nice and cool (very welcome on a hot summer's day!) and the garden offered plenty... More

Had dinner here on a Sunday night as the pub up the road is closed for food on Sundays. Nice meal, good service and value for money. I had chicken liver pate and lamb shank and my wife had carrot and orange soup. Never had that before so had to try it. Won't have it again!

While staying in burford for the weekend, we decided to try all the pubs. We decided to go down a side street, thinking they would be empty. We went into the Angel pub and restaurant and sat at the bar. Not knowing what we wanted to eat, we decided to just have a drink. We sat chatting to the lovely... More

We stopped for lunch while in Burford for the day and were pleased. First, they allowed us to bring our dog in, which was nice. More importantly, the food was good, not typical pub fare. I had slow roasted lamb shoulder with a mint mashed potatoes. A very nice portion of lamb and the sauce was so good I ate... More

Whilst staying in the area we researched a local pub for quality food. We did not book but managed to be squeezed in. The menu was limited and unadventurous and our food choices, when arrived were even more of a disappointment. I had the beef roast. The roast potatoes were under cooked. The veg selection was bizarre; not a green... More

It is not often I have to respond to a review like this, but I shall do so as fairly and objectively as possible, as the things written are so far away from anything I recognise, I ask myself if this is a case of mistaken identity! Indeed the review directly below seems to contradict everything you have said. Firstly,... More

Lunch here Sunday with a friend was really good. We were both out of our area so booked based on other (good) reviews and were not disappointed. We both had a starter (gorgeous calamari for me) and sea bass main meal, which was cooked and served beautifully, followed by lovely gooey chocolate brownie and ice-cream. The staff were freindly and... More
