I only wanted a snack and the nearby chicken take-away was out of fried chicken! So I called in to one of my favourite old haunts for two starters. The smoked haddock chowder is a meal in itself - chock full of fish and potatoes. The calamari was also up to scratch with a lovely sweet Thai dip. Quite recently,... More

I'm not particularly a big seafood fan, and tend to steer clear as an evening of fish is a bit too much for me. However, my mate wanted to try it, so in we went, got seated despite not booking,. Staff were friendly enough, my mate's chowder starter was wishy washy, not the best, but rated his crab main. My... More

After trying to book into the Beeston Lobster Pot Resturant without success we decided to try the Nottingham branch, We went quite early so it wasn't that busy just 2 or 3 tables, Although it was quite a walk from the city centre it was well worth the walk, the food was excellent with lots of choices to pick from,... We went for lunch on a sat we were welcomed by a lovely guy who was very friendly but looked like a good bath wouldn't hurt he was extremely ungroomed which was off putting. I ordered oysters in garlic and breadcrumbs which were nice enough but nothing great, I then ordered lobster Thermidor which was lobster with garlic butter and... More

How lucky we are in Nottingham. The Lobster Pot Nottingham is a stunning seafood experience accompanied by friendly service with a professional chef/owner that now precisely his seafood guests want.

Never had seafood out before - we shared the lobster platter, got some calamari rings and fries. Very impressed! Mussels were my least favourite out of them all. Liked the added flavours to the oysters and lobsters. Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Prompt service. Would return back :)

I had Thai fish cakes for my starter, sadly they were rubbery. I ordered battered prawns with rice and chilli sauce for my main. The batter was much too thick for the prawns. I was served a tiny dish of chilli sauce, which was exactly like the bottled stuff I have in my cupboard. The overall effect was a very... More

I thought I was below deck all the time I was sat there. Clearly the owners have used their imagination to great effect. Real effort, it's authentic. Very reasonably priced lobster too! Can you find cheaper in the East Midlands. I doubt it. Prawns on sesameseed toast to start and then grilled lobster with garlic butter. The garlic was a... More
