Whilst the restaurant environment is beautiful and the service good. The food was not up to scratch to match with its surroundings. I ordered a Fregula (type of pasta), it was presented lukewarm and tasteless. I dined with my son and on leaving the restaurant he informed me his sea bass was also cold, also tasteless. The first thing I... More

A fairly small venue with good space for each table. Good selection of food with a twist. Well presented dishes and good discreet service. Price a little above average but worth it.

This was our second visit and this time it was disappointing, while the food was off the usual interesting varied menu the chips and sauce for our steaks were so over salted we both left them, if not for that the meal would have been excellent, the service was originally helpful friendly and they went to great lengths to explain... I really do think this restaurant is one of the best in Nottingham city centre. The restaurant is very beautiful - it's a stunning Grade 2 listed building that was once the first Boot's store. The food is also excellent. I had a wonderful lemon sole dish which was really outstanding while my boyfriend tried a hanger steak (a cut... More

After and afternoon in Nottingham we decided to have an early evening meal and phoned The Larder and was lucky to get in as all the tables were booked for later in the evening. They provided us with a table for two but we had to be finished before the later booking arrived but it was not rushed because we... More

We visited this restaurant to celebrate my Daughter's graduation and were not disappointed. The ambiance was relaxed and both the food and service were excellent. We all started with the duck croquettes which were superb - although there were other tempting starters on the menu. For the mains we ordered sea bass, lamb and several of the steak options which... We went there for a graduation celebration. A very enjoyable meal. There were very few people there at the start (warmest day of the year) so the atmosphere was a little dull at the start. The food was really great and the service was very good.

This intimate restaurant is a favourite for a romantic dinner for two. The food changes so frequently that there is always fresh flavours to explore made with local ingredients. Just be warned you may spend more than you bargain for!

The venue itself has a unique style (in a good way) and up on the first floor. Loved all the food - presentation and taste were both excellent. Service was quite slow (75 mins until starters arrived) and none of the staff noticed I was the only person not to get a dessert. This was quickly sorted out though to... More

Not sure on the Boots heritage as I Guess Robin Hood also lived here. However the food is superb and the steaks are great with some cuts not normally served and great local sourcing. The setting deserves good guest wanting to relax and enjoy Lace Market at its best. Been 3 times so this is not first impressions
