A Disappointing roast Sunday lunch could not be rescued by a reasonable red wine. The beef was dry, veg lacking in taste, a very solid yoorkshire pudding and gravy so thin you could see through it.

Took my daughter and son there for daughter's birthday. Food top notch. Well cooked and nicely presented with decent portions. Slow service prevented a five star rating.

The entrance is a bit tricky to find, then you go upstairs to the restaurant which is large and airy. A pleasant space with history as this was where the first Boots the chemist was established. The menu is not extensive but there is a reasonable choice. The food is good without being spectacular. OK for the prices charged.

Had a lovely dinner with friends - tasty terrine, spot on hanging steak and nice cheeses. Recommended red wine was just right. Thank you!

What a great place for lunch! Met up with a friend and had a superb lunch. Set menu is less than £20 for three courses. Right in the heart of the lace market, lovely food, excellent wine and a super airy dining room You'd better book because it is (deservedly popular).

We had our wedding celebration meal here in October 2015 and it was very good, fantastic food and attentive service. Pleased to say that we went back this October and still very good - they even remembered it was our wedding anniversary and gave a complimentary pudding - lovely personal touch and very much appreciated. Will be back next year

I was in town for a show and decided to try The Larder for a pre theatre meal. (I had been once before and sampled a la carte, and thought it very good) Oddly the restaurant did not open at the advertised time, a member of staff arrived, made a phonecall, and the door was eventually opened, about ten minutes... Lovely building with views out over the street below, the pre theatre menu is a bargain with several quality modern twists on British classics at a very reasonable price.

Visited with friends and loved the food and atmosphere of the place - it's good value and in a great location, offering something a little more special than most of the chain restaurants in the surrounding area.

We had wanted to visit this restaurant for ages so had been looking forward to our meal. The food was really nice - good ingredients and well cooked but.... we had booked but had to wait 20 minutes for 'our' table - the restaurant was only half full and there were plenty of empty tables we could have been offered.... Opened in 2006, The Larder is located in the Grade II listed Victorian building that was once home to the apothecary shop that went on to become the pharmaceutical giant Boot's. The house style is an emphasis on simplicity & quality of cooking, with a menu that changes daily to take advantage of seasonal ingredients. Service is knowledgeable yet relaxed & unpretentious.
