We visited this pub whilst following Nottingham's Architecture Ale Trail and it is great. We visited on a Wednesday night when there was live music on and it was packed. A lovely atmosphere with friendly staff and a good selection of beers. We had the Rabbit Pie which was served with mash and vegetables and as it was a Wednesday... More

An excellent range of proper beers and ciders, not to mention whiskeys. The staff are great and food the is second to none. A pub as it should be done. If you want stella/carling/ect try somewhere else!

I haven't tried the food at the Poacher, I usually stop in with my husband for a whiskey and a real ale. Impressive whiskey selection. Several real ales.

This is a great pub, the beers, the whiskeys, the service are all excellent. But the food. It's like eating from a military kitchen - it's bland and overpriced.

I use “pub” to refer to a specific establishment, rather than a general type of establishment, for there are qualitative shades of meaning to this word for me: a “pub” is somewhere homey, quieter, relaxed whereas a “bar” is the kind of raucous place I tried to sneak into as a teenager. The Lincolnshire Poacher pub is the quintessential no-frills... More

Friends live just up the road to this great pub and even though there are numerous other pubs on Mansfield Road we never have reason to leave the poacher. Great selection of beer with a great atmosphere.

This pub is great! A Castle Rock pub so lots of choice of beer (3 milds for a start!). The food was great, the staff friendly. We were staying at The Park Inn up the road so very convenient. A favourite when visiting Nottingham.
