I love this place. I came to uni in Nottingham last September and fell in love with the food here, best pizza and desserts I've had!

Have tried to visit before but as The Alley Cat is a very small cafe bar hadn't been successful until today. Relaxing and somewhat quirky surroundings but refreshing to see something different. Staff very friendly and helpful. Had a cheese, mushroom and onion omelette with granary toast, just how I like it. Will definitely make a return visit as there are... More

We found this cafe hidden away in a corner. This is not your average family/tourist-restaurant , which is a good thing! If you enjoy eating vegetarian or vegan food then this certainly is a good place to eat in Nottingham. The place has the standard nontraditional atmosphere to it, personnel was attentive, friendly and informative. Food was good and dessert... More

I ordered one of the burgers here and it was very nice, very good value, I also had a smoothie which was freshly made and beautiful, and also a desert, really good prices compared with elsewhere for what you get. Good service too

Went with two vegetarians who were thrilled to have a whole menu to choose from instead of the usual one or two options in other restaurants. Plenty of interesting choice and decent sized portions. Quite a small restaurant but we did manage to get a table during lunch time, but you can sit at the bar and eat too.

The Alley Cafe describes itself as a vegetarian/vegan restaurant, seen as "quite a hip" place in the Nottingham food scene. If "hip" is being prepared to wait 40 minutes for your lunch order whilst having to raise you voice to be heard by the person sitting next to you because of the volume of the music, then I'll stay "un-hip"... I was looking for decent veggie restaurants in Nottingham for my partner before seeing a show at the Playhouse. The Alley Cafe Bar was just the ticket, an independent veggie cafe just off the city centre with a very nice vibe and good quality food. We ordered different types of burger which arrived promptly and were tasty and large in... More

I searched for a vegetarian restaurant near my hotel suitable for a lone business dinner. Found the Alley Cafe and went. Has a veggie, arty, summer holiday, lofty type feel with friendly staff. A good range of tasty vegetarian food and excellent free brewery real ale. This is well worth a visit but it is small and timing or booking... More

I love Alley cafe, especially as it is veggie/vegan but oh, the service is poor, not because the staff are lethargic or don't care, quite the opposite. One person serving is not enough and puts the person under huge pressure, only one thing needs to go awry and people are waiting for ages for food or to pay their bills.... More

We've been to alley cafe many times and have always had great service and excellent food. The atmosphere is very relaxed. In the late evening the cafe takes on a bar feel, sometimes with live music.
