Visited for lunch on a Tuesday and it was pretty busy. Sat upstairs which was more pleasant than downstairs - as downstairs seemed more like a street bar than eating place. Service a bit slow on food, and food below average I thought. Sausages badly...More

Been here a few times a d had mixed experiences. The bar staff are either brilliant or rude, the food is either very nice or fairly cold and unappetising. The Wetherspoons on St James's Street is a better bet.

Cheap beer, ok food, and that’s about it although have to say the staff are always friendly in this largish city centre pub. Conveniently close to the market square so easy to use as a refreshment stop but that also makes it very busy so...More

While having a drink and game of pool my family encountered a problem in the form of comments from other diners. The staff were sympathetic, understanding and efficient. They handled the situation admirably and and quickly and brought it to the attention of the bouncers...More
