Nice food usual selection, too many beers to chose from, okay if you're into ales. Tables need clearing outside though!

This is the perfect venue for an away day. Our team of 20, came on 7th July 2016. The function room is separate from the rest of the bar and is upstairs so you can't hear any noise from the bar below. They have plenty of seating, state of the art projector and screen. Sound system was available but we... More

Nothing about being here was good except the wide selection of beers. The serving staff would all clearly prefer to be elsewhere and it's as much as they can manage to stir from their reverie to pull the odd pint. The food was dire - catering pack dross at city centre prices. Getting rid of the beer gives a good... More

Visited the pub on the weekend with a group of friends. I love that the canal goes through the pub. There was a choice selection of beers but I recommend avoiding the food all costs. Three of us in the group ordered food and it was all really low quality. I paid £10 for a burger that smelt like catfood... More

Staff are unhelpful and rude, asked for some salt, got told to check other tables for it, what sort of restaurant doesn't have spare salt in the back??? Took my three year old, don't do kids meals and.wouldn't do a smaller portion which is rubbish.. nice place though but poor customer service. Won't be eating here again.

Me and my friends visited The Canal House for something to eat. It was 11.45am on a Sunday and we were told grumpily they didn't take food orders until 12pm. We got a drink and sat down to browse the menu ready to order the food at 12. My friend had asked how long the food would take as we... More

As soon as you walk in you know this place is unique. A small bridge, over a small canal boat, takes you into the main bar/restaurant area. The Canalhouse has a great back patio on the canal where you can enjoy the good weather with a great beer and friends. We sat inside, next to the staircase that takes everyone... More

We've had drinks here lots of times, as we love the large selection of world beers and unusual ciders, however, most visits have been in the winter, snuggled up inside under the twinkling fairy lights, looking at the moored canal boat. We visited for lunch recently on a beautiful sunny day and were fortunate to find an outside table near... More

Loved how the canal boat is inside and the bridge goes over and you can even sit outside too. Lovely food and friendly staff too. I cant wait to go back again.

The CanalHouse is one of those places you meet up with your mates for a couple of beers before going off somewhere else. It's quirky with the boat moored inside the pub but ultimately is just a big space to drink and chat. We've neve had the food here, so can't comment on that but the atmosphere is whatever you...
