We are here as a family of five for Sunday lunch. It is a pub downstairs and restaurant upstairs, as you would expect decor wise with a pub feel. Friendly staff and probably one of the best Sunday roasts I’ve had. The beef was superb,...More

We were a party of five for late(ish) lunch on a cold Sunday in York. We have previously been in for drinks and nibbles in the bar downstairs and liked the atmosphere. The place is warm and inviting with a rustic and quirky old interior...More

Great food and service. The restaurant is cosy, warm and classy. We will certainly be back. We wanted to try somewhere new, and we now have somewhere we will visit regularly. The value is great, well worth the money.

As the title says, it's just great food. Always a table available, staff are always friendly and polite. Often oddly empty considering how amazing the food is, but that just makes it feel even more like you've found a hidden gem!

Visited here with my partner and tried a pint of 'Blitzen' which was a light bodied smooth ale brewed locally in Yorkshire, other local ales where available. Friendly staff and cosy atmosphere. Worth a sit down inbetween shopping.
