Won’t go back again, breakfast was cold, poor quality and the staff just stood talking instead of taking orders

I regularly visit here for breakfast and it's very good. Always very quick and efficient service and the staff are very friendly. Standard Wetherspoons food. Can't go wrong.

Me and some friends went on an afternoon for some drinks, and even though it was quite busy, the service was fab. Served by a lovely bloke called Shaun who stood out as he was a right laugh and couldn't have been more helpful. All...staff that we chatted to were lovely too! Nice food and drinks, came in good time and overall just a pleasant and relaxing experience.More

we stayed at the holiday inn directly across the road from this place for 5 nites. it was our 1st and last drink of the day and night. we ordered via the app. it was really hit and miss at times and seemed to wait...ages for the service. quicker just going up to order. what surprised me most was when there was a queue say 3 or 4 people waiting to be served the staff all chatting around the kitchen area. brazen and not at all bothered about paying customers. the place can be a bit messy. tables not cleated and food on floor etc. we used this place every day at different times but we always managed to find somewhere to sit. Nice seating areas outside and also down onto the river bank too which is nice for alfresco dining if thats your thing. food is basic and does the job but it's snack food and it never really fills you up. if anything helps soak the booze a little. we had curry Thursday which was piping hot and value for money and tasty. Place is what it is and you get what you pay for. did the job and keeps the costs down on the booze.More

Ordered 3 traditional breakfasts. No hash browns on one of them. Bread had not been toasted. When the waiter was told about the missing hash browns he came with a dish, slammed it on the table and walked off. No apology. The chocolate was weak....The butter had been put on hot food so it was just liquid. We always go to weatherspoons but this one was not up to their high standard. Will not be going there again. Very disappointed.More

Popped in while in york for the week for a bite to eat and a few drinks as you do. Service was brutal. Ordered via App. 20 min passed no drinks. Went to bar to check to be asked are you sure you ordered. Showed...order on phone and still questioned. Eventually they sorted it. All good. On app again ordered food and drinks. Food arrived no issues there. Waited on drinks. Nothing. Back to bar. Questioned again as to my order but eventually sorted. Third time lucky back on the app to order another round. Yip you guessed it no drinks after about 20 min. Up to bar and again couldn't find the order. Then noticed my drinks on tray at end of bar. Asked if they were mine. They didn't know. They were and the girl nodded over and said " you want to just take them over yourself" while she floated around the bar doing nowt. Worst service ever in a spoons and I was not the only one. Even the food menu had half the food unavailable. Maybe they were having a bad day I don't know but to accuse a customer of not ordering via their app; then realising they have but not even apologising is pretty poor.More

This is a large pub and based in an accessible part of town. My all day breakfast meal was well cooked and tastes fine. My order was politely taken too. The only downside was that the pub raise their prices in posher towns and cities...and, like at Whitby, you'll pay here than you would at Halifax for the same meal.More

I went to posters gate last night with some friends and were served by a young man called sean. He was extremely polite and helpful and was by far the best service I have ever received there. Go Sean !

Nice area, just outside the main town so it’s fairly quiet and not rammed like other Wetherspoons can be. Staff friendly and service was really quick, food was really good :)
