Chaos upon arrival as they seemed to have lost our booking. Sat for ten minutes with no menus but staff seemed friendly, just not over attentive or professional. Being served your meal by someone who has a biro pen sticking out of their mouth and so is unable to communicate with the table was less than appreciated. Everything on the... More

The Gait Inn is a cracking, traditional Yorkshire pub. The front of the pub looks glorious with the flowers, a lot of time and effort put into it, along with a nice well maintained beer garden round the back of the pub. We have been many times, for Sunday lunch and for an evening meal! Always a lovely warm welcome... More

The pub has good parking and garden area around the back fitted with seating. The main restaurant area, and incidentally from what we saw the only area inside ie no pub lounge, is set out into parties of 2-6, for meals. Menu is pretty simple and straightforward. Staff friendly and orders were quite quickly converted into food to eat. Quality... More

Sunday dinner for four. Great Ice cream but rest of meal very average and prepared from the microwave cook book. Service very good, lovely family pub in superb location.I felt that too many tables had been squeezed into available space which made us feel that we were in a thoroughfare and could have easily joined the conversation at the adjoining... We went for dinner and drinks at the Gait Inn and were treated to some folk music afterwards. The staff are very helpful and quick to assist with food and drink orders. The food was excellent and well worth the money. The bar also has a great variety of local beers as well as the usual international beers. Would definitely... More
