Mannions is always busy and in a great location not far from the Minster. Today we were served by Nat who is lovely. Freshly made food and lovely cakes

Lovely cafe in the old quarter of York - with a small outdoor seating area in the back. We actually ate lunch here both days we were in town as our initial delicious lunch of eggs Benedict was so good but we had food envy as everyone else's dishes looked terrific too so we returned to try the charcuterie platter.

Several visits to Mannions both in York and Helmsley have all been very satisfying. All the dishes we have chosen have gone down very well, the quality of the ingredients is obvious. One may think the prices are a little on the steep side but well worth if for this level of cuisine. The portions are not meager by any... More

We visited Mannions on a really busy afternoon in the middle of the holiday season. The waitress was really busy but took the time to find us a space and extra chairs in the courtyard. She then immediately went to get a water bowl for our two little mutts. The cream teas we had were generous portions and the tea,... More

Just called in for a quick breakfast sandwich and drinks. Can confirm that our bacon/sausage 'butties' were excellent and certainly not your ordinary cafe fare. Great atmosphere with equally fine, quick service delivered by friendly staff.Slight negative was that the outside tables are a little too close together but this place is so popular they obviously want to provide as many... On recommendation I was introduced to Mannion & Co and ever since, for the past 8 months, I have visited for lunch at least once a week!!! The food is some of the best I have come across catering to a wide palate. The bread is to die for which I often purchase on departure. Always made to feel welcome... More

This place is a great find. Great service, nice atmosphere and delicious food. The Yorkshire Rarebit with bacon is particularly delicious (and filling). Comes with a side salad and yummy homemade tomato relish. Lots of tea choices and it's proper loose leaf tea. Didn't try any but certainly admired the counter of takeaway treats including the most incredible sausage rolls.... More

Today was a coffee stop but have also been recently for brunch. The food, savoury or sweet, is fantastic and is good value for centralYork. It has a bustling atmosphere and I prefer to sit on the elevated level, but that's just me! The staff were charming, knowledgeable and efficient.

Such an awesome little secret in York! We can't stop coming back. Despite the tiny little building, they always manage to squeeze us in, we even turned up as a group of seven last Saturday morning and were quickly accommodated and all delighted with our food and our coffee. Go here!

Went for lunch and found Mannion to have very attentive staff who couldn't have been more pleasant. We were given a glass of water on arrival and served promptly by a well informed member of the staff. We had a salad and a Cajun chicken sandwich. The bread was superb and the helpings more than adequate. Overall we had a... More
