We visit The White Bear for a meal when we visit York about 3 times a year simply because we have never been let down with service and quality. Without exception the food is always brilliant. The service is faultless. Love this place.

Friendly country pub with great selection of real ales and beers. Staff always warm and friendly and has a good size rustic restaurant serving honest Yorkshire grub with the odd taste twist.. Portion size is good (important for Yorkshire folk!) and very reasonably priced (even more important!). Menu changes quite often and everything is fresh and home cooked. Overall a... More

We eat here often & can't complain, it's excellent value for money, my only crumble is that the staff are a bit young & don't always get your order right, but I would highly recommend here.

Excellent and varied menu in this village pub. Good selection of beers with Sam Smith bitter and Leeds IPA as the regulars. Booking for the restaurant is recommended at busy times.

A super pub with friendly staff and great value food. The prime time menu is superb, and the changing guest ales always tasty. A firm favourite!

Visited tonight as part of our three day break in North Yorkshire. On first walking into the pub we were met with a very positive and cheerful welcome from the guy behind the bar ( I think his name was Liam). He talked us through the beers he had on offer and certainly seemed to know his stuff, when asked... More

We were stopping in Huby but decided to have a run out the few miles to The White Bear Inn at Stillington. We weren't disappointed. There were about five cask ales to select from so I was happy. The menus gave a good choice and the four of us chose different selections. All were well cooked and the vegetables spot... More
