Lovely village inn in a beautiful, quiet, rural setting. The village of Church Houses is simply beautiful. The beer garden is great - secluded and well maintained.

Wow, we had the steak & ale pie and the gammon steak, pineapple and chips. The portions at huge and tasty - no leaving here feeling hungry - only disappointment was I could fit a desert in or more beer. Beer was great too. Owners were welcoming and accommodating of our dog in the bar. Bar area is cosy and... More

I'm surprised about the mixed reviews for our party of seven adults and two kids we all enjoyed our ample meals. We had not intended to dine but we were made to feel so welcome we decided to stay and eat. It is a great pub for walker, being situated at the end of the daffodil walk, about 2 miles... More

What a pleasant surprise! The only pub in the village was banging on New Years Eve. What a fun night and great disco!

If this review was only based on the food then it would rate it 1 or at best 2 stars. The positives were that the staff were friendly, the beer (Black Sheep) was good and there was a nice atmosphere in the pub. We visited one evening and with regard to the meals, I ordered 'slow cooked belly pork' which... More

This is the second visit for myself and my husband to this wonderful inn but my inlaws have been coming here for 12 years. It was well worth the 42 mile trip. Wonderful food. In a lovely homely setting, met by a very pleasent, welcoming host and a wonderful fire. I can absolutely recomment the Yorkshire pudding dish where the... More
