Had to stop downstairs as dog not allowed in so had to leave him outside. It was perfectly fine for a cuppa and a cake, but obviously it sound like upstairs may be better. However we only went in as our friends were in there, and as there are plenty of dog friendly cafes about we will not be returning.

This was our first visit to Botham's for the afternoon tea and even though Whitby was heaving due to it being Folk Week the cafe wasn't too busy. It seemed as though all the customers were having something different, from cooked meals to light snacks and everything we saw being served looked to be top quality. The afternoon tea consisted... A lovely shop to pop in for cakes, bread, biscuits and sandwiches. They also have a lovely tea room upstairs. Always buy our biscuits when we go to Whitby here.

We popped in here for a quick snack and both selected a savoury tea for £4.95 although a small extra charge was added for coffee instead of tea (25p, I think). This was beautifully presented and consisted of two cheese scones, a portion of grated cheese, a portion of homemade tomato pickle and a side salad. Very tasty indeed. We... More

Nice little store, the food is always quality and the servers are nice. However on my visit today when I bought a pork pie the server dropped it into a tub of raw sausages then picked it up and still gave it to me. In my opinion it should have gone into the bin or put away, not served to... More

Upstairs at Bothams is a positive gem... the kind of English tea room one always imagines and can never find! From the moment you walk into the spacious and elegant rooms to be greeted by traditionally attired waitresses, you just feel special. The menu is varied with everything from delicious pastries, breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea or a hot 'high... More

As a family (3 adults & 2 children) we decided to visit the tearoom after passing by the lovely Botham bakery cake shop window underneath. The tearoom looked a little tired and was in a Victorian classic style but we decided to try it while visiting Whitby. We ordered afternoon teas for the adults (£10.95 each!!!) and for the children... More

Visited whilst on holiday and had afternoon tea. It was a real treat, lovely atmosphere and delicious food. Waited a little while for our afternoon tea and ran out of milk for our tea and a refill wasn't offered - little minor things hence why not 5* but well worth a visit - lovely place !!!
