We were really looking forward to takeaway fish and chips from this highly rated restaurant. I don't really like batter because it holds too much oil for my liking and there was no breadcrumb alternative. The fish itself, once the batter was removed, was cooked beautifully and very fresh and succulent. I couldn't touch the chips because they had such... More

Sat in cool restaurant area. Plenty of space. Lovely fish, chips and peas. Chicken nuggets took a little longer but were worth the wait as they were 'real' ones, made with chicken breast. Friendly, helpful staff.

Average chips but the cod was wet inside and mushy with no flavour. There are better take away fish and chips in Whitby

We really enjoyed our meal. Lovely service and the food was brilliantly. We went twice while we were there. Will certainly go again.

Lovely fresh food in here, quite a good selection of food as well as fish and chips. Staff welcoming and the decor was lovely, clean and bright and modern. It was a little bit more expensive than other fish and chip shops but it was worth it to sit in a nice restaurant .

No apologies for writing this, my second review. Not a proper summer without a visit to Whitby and I/we always go to Hadleys. Year in and year out their standard is exceptional. The fish is beautiful and fresh and cooked to perfection. Their 'small' lunch is always enough for me and it comes with bread and butter and Yorkshire tea.... More

Went last week as part of a holiday and were told they were really good. I don't like leaving negative stuff as I know they only try but to be honest they are lucky had our trip happened at home they would have had a mums sit in! To cut it short they got the order wrong the oldish waitress... More

We visited Hadleys at 11am on a Friday in July as it opened. This is our regular haunt when we visit Whitby. The staff were very welcoming and the restaurant was light, airey, nicely decorated and scrupulously clean. There was a good selection on the menu. We ordered medium cod and chips and a scampi salad. The food arrived promptly... More

We have been visiting Whitby for many years and always go to Hadley for our fish and chips. Great food and lovely service.
