Visited yesterday after not being for a while. As usual friendly welcome and excellent cakes. Huge portions, eyes bigger than stomachs but very tasty and unusual flavours. Will be back, hopefully sooner rather than later ! 😀😀

Me and wife visit Whitby at least once a year and always have to come here for a drink and some cake. The cake slices are bigger than my head and so delicious we have struggled to plough through the cake on each occasion and the lovely staff have always boxed what we have left over to take away. i... Great cafe, really nice people, good food and doggy treats for Molly the pooch. A relaxing atmosphere, peruse the second hand books, this was the find of our day. Don't know if it is me but I judge the cleanliness by the toilet (which also the staff must use) and feel moved to comment as it is probably the cleanest... More

We had a very yummy lunch here after wandering around busy Whitby we wanted somewhere quiet to go. Food and drinks were excellent and the service was as nice as anywhere we have been!!!!! Thank you for a very memorable meal 👌😄

After visiting again with friends, it reminded me just what a treat this"coffee shop" is, the service is always lovely and they go out of there way to make sure you have a great experience, we love there almost famous panini's and there milkshakes are delicious, if you have never been it's definitely worth a visit.

We went here on a Saturday afternoon with our baby and some friends and their little one. Cake exceptional - recommend the vanilla and chocolate cake! Milkshakes awesome, they even come with a scoop of ice cream floating on top. The toasties looked top-notch as well. Staff extremely friendly - we were even brought a special little plate of food... We walked the walk up a steep hill to find this coffee shop due to the reviews on here. We wish we hadn't. The place is nice and cosy and the staff are friendly. My wife ordered a speciality hot chocolate and a tangy chorizo paninI and I ordered a flat white and some homemade cake. The hot chocolate was... More

Visited Beckett's a while back and really enjoyed the place. Back in Whitby recently for a family holiday and called in for coffee and cake and it's just as good - nice hot coffee and absolutely delicious cakes in a really friendly environment. A good place to spend half an hour relaxing and looking at the wide selection of second... More

Description
Beckett's is a small, family-run, dog-friendly coffee shop off the beaten track in lovely Skinner Street. We serve a small but ever-changing menu made from local ingredients where possible including delicious soups and 'beckanini' - which are large, soft and not gum-cloggingly dry. Our cakes are all sticky and home-made using real butter and free-range eggs (the rhubarb and custard cake is a favourite) and new this year are home-made cookies. The coffee is delicious and all Fairtrade.
