Visiting Norwich with friends I decided that a trip to my old student haunt was required. Service was quick the burgers and chicken were great and the portion size was good. Perhaps my next visit will be a bit sooner.

As before, the best hamburgers in town! Messy, juicy and fun to eat. I was pleased to see the Texas license plate on the front of the 1964 chevy. Next time I will bring a New Mexico plate. The decor is rustic and not men't to be modern. I'm so glad that nothing has changed.

Father's day rolled around again and this time I fancied a burger! After climbing the stairs to the restaurant we took a table in the middle and were served quickly. I had the extra large burger which came with fries and was really good. The burger was cooked just right and the chips were lovely (and a good sized portion).... More

I actually went into Captain America's with workmates nearly 30 years ago - first meal out in Norfolk since leaving Yorkshire and I remember being shocked at how out of date it was with no atmosphere. I had not liked it then and had been shocked at how drab and dirty it was with high prices. As my party had... More

Pretty much unchanged over a number of years but that's fine. Decent burgers, lots of fries and all the usual suspects. No problems, except... If I order a salad with the French dressing option, I want French dressing i.e. oil and vinegar. Not that awful Hellman's rubbish. It used to be French dressing but the owners seem to have decided... I went here on my own while here for a business trip. There were a total of 7 people including me and 4 of them were leaving so very quiet. Service was OK and quick unsurprisingly, the burger was OK but in no way homemade but the portions are big......or is that the small plate? You decide!! What let the... More

Visited for a impromptu lunch after seeing this restaurant listed in a top ten burger restaurant in Norwich to be honest I'm noy sure how it came about this accolade as I've had tastier burgers from a kebab house I ordered a smokey burger the wife a deluxe, upon arrival mine swam in bbq sauce to the point I couldn't... You know what you'll get when you go to Captain Americas, relaxed informal atmosphere and fed well. The service is OK, drink refill needed to be asked for and staff do stand around chatting a bit. The night I attended there was a very rowdy group of men that maybe needed telling to calm down but on the whole the... More

We nipped in recently during a rain shower after deciding eating was better than getting wet. I'll be brief, but staff were friendly, food well cooked, portions a good size, and the ambience is what it is, American diner style, small, but we like it.

The food was hot and served quickly. And was exactly as expected of a burger and chips! It wasn't made clear that I was to leave straight after finishing my meal nor that single diners, despite the empty tables elsewhere, were less welcome. I was interrupted twice if not thrice while I was trying to eat ( and text) ..... More
