We had an overnight stay in room 8 at the weekend and it was absolutely superb. From the huge, comfortable bed to the deep roll top bath - the room was stunning. It was beautifully decorated, very well equipped with a fridge with water, coffee machine(!) and lots of complimentary teas etc. There was even a fruit bowl and cookies... More

Our first visit here this weekend for lunch. Really nice welcoming staff. Wonderful food with that lovely 'home cooked' feel. Tried the non-alcoholic cocktails which were very refreshing. Couldn't really fault it and can't wait to visit again.

Visited for a light lunch before going to the Theatre. The service and the surroundings are wonderful and the food was very nice, although we only had sandwiches and cake. It is a little on the pricey side and we were very disappointed to see that they automatically add a 10% service charge to your bill. I believe it should... More

Went for the high tea instead of the afternoon tea as fancied the thought of warm savouries with our cakes instead of sandwiches. Shame the thought didn't live up to the reality. Half a cold sliced up crumpet each. Half a slice of toast with cinnamon butter each Small scotch egg each Bite size meat pie each. Unlike the afternoon... More

We had afternoon tea for my daughters birthday, the whole experience was poor. I had high tea and my daughter had classic afternoon tea. My daughters sandwiches were stale with poor fillings. The scones were reheated and very hard. I had scotch egg which was pleasant the Welsh rarebit tart was good. A slice of plain toast with cinnamon was... More

I ate here with friends prior to a trip to the theatre. What a lovely building and how nice it was to see it being put to such good use. The staff were very polite and friendly which added to the occasion. The food choice was plentiful and we all enjoyed our meals. This would be a lovely place to... More

Me and my husband enjoyed a lovely high tea earlier this year in the beautiful courtyard. High tea was such a lovely twist on the traditional afternoon tea, as both of us aren't keen on sandwiches. Food and service were faultless and the champagne could quite possibly have been the best champagne we have ever had! Would be great to... More

This is a fab building and we had high expectations for this place. The furniture inside was tired but passable however the food was terrible neither myslf or my wife ate the main course mashed potato was supposed to be smoked it was lumpy where it was under cooked kale was raw the beef was full of gristle. Disappointing price... More

We visited the tearoom for a belated birthday present from my wife to me and were looking forward to it for sometime, the service was excellent but unfortunately the size of portions was very small and the amount disappointing, we have had afternoon tea at other venues where they keep replenishing the sandwiches etc but not here. You get just... More

The Assembly House Full English Breakfast is the best in Norfolk and Assembly House is 'The Ritz' of Norfolk. The sausages and bacon are top notch quality and the egg was perfectly cooked. Absolutely fabulous and delicious breakfast treat. First class service too. Orange juice is wonderful and fresh.
